SUMMER 2020
City of Calexico Recreation Department
Dear City of Calexico Friends and Families,
This is the letter we hoped we didn’t have to write. We have spent the last several weeks researching and considering if we could open this year’s regular summer activities while providing the safe and unique experiences our participants deserve. As per the Imperial Public Health Department, the county is currently on Stage 2 Low Risk on its Road to Recovery. Due to the limitations of this stage and the unique health risks associated with COVID-19, we regret to announce that we are unable to offer our pool program or to operate our regular schedule this summer.
We appreciate your patience as we have been working behind the scenes to develop recreational opportunities that comply with the Imperial County Public Health Officer’s Guidelines. Please know that we are working around the clock in an effort to provide you and your families with meaningful and fun recreational activities during the current Stay at Home Order. Rest assured, it is our goal to keep you healthy, engaged and active this summer.
Let’s all do our part in reducing community virus transmission and keeping everyone safe by following orders and guidelines established by our health officials.
Stay tuned, because we will continue to provide online classes and presentations through our Department’s Facebook Page.
Thank you for your continuous support,
Recreation Staff
