HISTORY

City National Bank of Florida was established in 1946 by Leonard L. Abess, Sr. and Baron de Hirsch Meyer

It was founded as the North Shore Bank on 71st Street in Miami Beach.

In the 50’s, the bank moved into its new headquarters at 25th West Flagler Street.

Over the next 50 years, City National Bank expanded into Broward, and Palm Beach counties as well as the Orlando and Winter Park communities.

In November 2008, Leonard L. Abess Jr. sold his 83 percent share of the bank to the Caja Madrid banking group.

Caja Madrid banking group is City National Bank’s holding company

The bank was sold for $927 million Leonard Abess Jr. shared $60 million of the

proceeds with 399 current staff members and 72 former employees.

Bankia then sold City National Bank of Florida to Chilean bank BCI for $883 million because of financial troubles

Scandal

Miguel Blesa, the former executive chairman of Caja Madrid,is accused of leaving the company saddled with huge losses because of an allegedly ill-advised takeover of City National Bank in 2008, which caused the bankia group to need $51.3 billion European bailout.

PBB Goals

Treasury Organize and do the balance sheets for the

bank and its departments. Regional goals

On a spreadsheet, placed all the yearly and monthly goals all the branches had to meet, as well as the goals our own departments had. And determined who was meeting the goals.

would able to fit those needs.

Small business/consumer underwriting

Applications What’re the applications a client must fill out in order

to apply for the loan, as well was where these files are accessible.

Bakerhill A program designed for banking, where all business

transactions, such as loans, are documented and organized in an easy to look up manner.

Technology The most efficient way to perform the duties of a

banker is to be organized, and the key tool in this day and age for organization is technology, such as Bakerhill, that puts everything neatly in place for you.
