How are we the SAME?

• Both facilities are owned and operated by Frederick County Government, governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees and the County Commissioners

• Both are licensed by the Maryland Department of Health & Mental Hygiene and receive annual quality surveys

• Both provide family-oriented care with the best interest of the residents in mind.

• Both provide end of life care when needed

How are we DIFFERENT?

• Citizens:– Skilled Nursing Facility, or what used to be called a “Nursing

Home.” – Must meet specific clinical criteria in order to receive insurance

coverage for an admission. – Most commonly receive admissions from hospitals, other nursing

homes, or assisted living facilities.• Montevue:

– Assisted Living Facility, allowing people who may not be able to function ideally in a home setting any longer to live in a home-like atmosphere with some assistance from professional and ancillary staff members.

– Residents can perform many of their Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s) independently, but may need varying levels of assistance.
