Bedtime and Lullabies

After I wrestle Cruz into his pajamas, tackle him to lay down, force him to listen to a book, conquer the monsters in the closet and extinguish the “big thing” under the bed…then, and only then is it actually bedtime.

Meal Time equals Memories

I should be apart of the Olympics. I know how to dodge food and liquids, and still get the food into his mouth before its to late! Meal Time is really code name for my “exercise” for the day.

Timeouts and Tantrums

When you get in trouble you sit quietly in the “hot seat” for one minute and then you can get up. Right? WRONG! Timeout is really code for “the world has ended”. There is plenty of crying, yelling and rolling around.

Busy Boss

Being a nanny is like being my own manager, I need to manage my time to do things such as homework, the babies swim lessons and Brianna's gymnastics lessons! Even though I’m the “manager” Cruz never lets me forget that he’s the “BOSS!”

Diapers and Blowouts

The substance that diapers hold on the inside, is meant for just that, to stay INSIDE of the diaper. I never imagined that same substance could shoot up a babies back to its neck, down its leg and even on me! These times are priceless, especially when you look down and see that toothless grin smiling up at you. The innocence of a child.

Tears and Fears

Cruz is never a boring character, between the scraped knees and the monster in the closet, I feel like I could be on Ghost Busters, but of course always with a band aid in tow!

A Walking Zombie

I never knew how little sleep I could actually run on. Needless to say sleep for me is a foreign word, its not something that I’m accustomed too, especially when most nights around 3 am I have a 19 month old visitor!

Potty Training Problems

You have got to love the moments when you get told that he has to go potty after the fact, not to mention the oh so lovely surprise that he leaves behind for me. At times he looks at the potty like its unfamiliar!

Schedules Schedules Schedules

My schedule, Cruz's schedule, Brianna's school and gymnastics schedule on top of the parents schedule can sometimes be overwhelming. But as a nanny you learn how to deal with it, and to make the best of it.

Counselors Always Listen

I am a nanny, counselor, driver, tutor, chef, a shoulder to cry on and always someone to listen. Whether its an 8 years old problems or a 19 month olds rambling, you sit there, listen and you always respond…with a smile.

A band aid and a kiss can fix anything

Whether it’s a scraped knee or a bumped head, one or two things can ALWAYS fix it.1. A kiss 2. A band aid. Most times it doesn’t even matter which ones comes first! When in doubt, use one of these tactics.

A Softened Heart

Being a nanny isn’t a job that just anyone could do. It’s a lot of work. Between the kids and the family, at times its emotionally draining. But I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.

Loving every minute of it

Being a nanny has completely changed my life for the better, it has taught me how to love in a completely different way. This is not only my occupation, but this family will be apart of my family forever.
