Summary This circular outlines the process and timelines for the Club Lifesaving Equipment Grant (CLEG).
Key Strategic Goal The Club Lifesaving Equipment Grant is facilitated with the objective of providing financial assistance to Surf Lifesaving Clubs to promote upgrading and maintaining primary rescue and patrolling equipment essential to deliver frontline lifesaving services.
Club Lifesaving Equipment Grant (CLEG) Overview The Club Lifesaving Equipment Grant (CLEG), proudly funded by the NSW Government and facilitated by Surf Life Saving NSW, is once again available to all NSW Surf Lifesaving Clubs (SLSC). The CLEG aims to provide financial assistance to each club to promote maintaining and upgrading operational gear and equipment items which are essential to lifesaving operations. A total pool of $595,000 has been allocated to clubs across NSW for the purchasing of this lifesaving equipment. The CLEG will be hosted online this year with the allocation of grant monies appearing in an online store as one credit amount/voucher issued. This credit voucher/amount can then be used to purchase the desired equipment required by your club. SLSNSW will continue to provide bulk purchasing processes to obtain competitive discounts on top quality operational equipment for clubs from SLSNSW’s preferred suppliers. A list of approved equipment eligible for purchase as part of the CLEG, is provided as an appendix to this circular.
Club Lifesaving Equipment Grant Processes Guidelines The CLEG will be dispersed via an online store. All the items available in the grant will be listed on the shop and any variances will not be supplied. The equipment list is provided as an appendix to this circular. Shop access, usernames, passwords, and instructions will be sent out via formal email to each club directly. This information will be provided to the following club committee members - Club President, Club Captain/Director of Lifesaving, and Club Administrator/Secretary. The information will contain greater explanation on the following brief overview:
• Each club will receive a Username and Password to log into the online store. Store credit will be loaded onto the online store for each club.
• SLSNSW will place the order with the supplier, on behalf of the club. The invoice will be sent directly from the supplier to the Club for payment. Payment of all invoices is the responsibility of the club, inclusive of shipping costs.
• All equipment will be shipped directly from the supplier to the club, and clubs will be responsible for all shipping costs. Delivery times from each manufacturer will vary due to stock levels, quantities, etc.
• SLSNSW will pay the allocated credit amount directly to the club upon receipt of a club invoice. SLSNSW will require proof of purchase/supplier invoice/receipt before payment can be made. Club invoices along with relevant proof of purchase are to be sent to Laura Schuetz, Lifesaving Administration Officer, [email protected].
Club Lifesaving Equipment Grant – Eligble Equipment List All equipment ordered will be from the equipment outlined on the online store only. The list has been developed to target primary rescue and patrolling equipment items essential to lifesaving services and adhere to Surf Life Saving equipment specifications. Equipment sizing charts for all personal protective equipment (PPE) are located at the end of the circular.
Obligations for the Club Lifesaving Equipment Grant Clubs will need to adhere to the below timelines outlined, with no extensions being given. If clubs do not submit their completed allocations prior to August 31st, 2020, they may lose allocated funding and it will be made available to their Branch to assist with purchasing equipment for their operations or other clubs within the same Branch. This rigidity is due to strict timeframes to meet reporting requirements against this allocated funding. The relevant timelines for clubs under this grant are:
1. SLSNSW will provide clubs with username and password for access to the online store (July 8th 2020). 2. Clubs are able to log onto store and place orders (July 8th 2020). 3. Orders to be placed via the online store (August 31st 2020). 4. SLSNSW to place orders (September 2020). 5. Clubs are to invoice SLSNSW to receive monies (no later than December 31st 2020).
