Confare, together with EY, is looking for the

IT manager of the year.

Confare, in cooperation with EY and the magazine Computerworld, awards the title "CIO of the Year" to honour IT managers who have successfully supported their company's goals through a consistent IT strategy, while also offering their employees attractive prospects and providing optimum service to users and clients. An independent jury of experts will select the deserving IT manager of the year.

The Swiss CIO Award will be presented at the 7th Confare Swiss CIO & IT-Manager Summit on 19th of September 2018 in Zurich. The deadline for submission is 30th of June 2018. Please email your application to: [email protected]

The following pages provide questions on various topics to answer for submission. The aim of the jury is to get to know you as a CIO and gain an understanding of how you shape your area of responsibility and to play your role. In order to present your answers, you are welcome to use any format (such as Word, PowerPoint, Video). The jury is happy about original ideas. In any case, it should be ensured that the areas and questions presented in this form are well covered in your application. Wherever possible, we recommend explaining the answers with concrete examples in order to facilitate the traceability of the jury.

IT ORGANIZATION2. What is the vision and strategy of your IT organization? According to which

criteria is this designed? How current is it held and communicated?If possible, please enclose a copy of the IT strategy and the IT organization chart.      

3. Which services do you offer to your "customers"? How do you measure and communicate the quality of services provided? What are the specific KPIs for measuring the quality of service provision in your organization?

4. How do you make make-or-buy decisions? Do you operate active supplier management? If so, how is it designed? What does the budgeting process in your area look like and how binding is it in the course of the year?      

CIO AS INNOVATOR5. How important are new technologies and their use in your daily work? How do

you ensure that you, your employees and the rest of the company are informed about and have access to new technologies and trends?     

6. What significant innovations have you made in the past year? Are you part of an innovation management team in which IT departments and corporate governance work together on corporate innovation?     

7. Does your company have a digital strategy which is pursued sustainably? Is there someone who takes responsibility for digitization, e.g. Chief Digital Officer? If so, how do you differentiate your tasks?
