Group management7.5A group is a set of similar sample acquisitions.
In this example, we defined two groups, one for all the acquisitions of cuper wires, and one for allthe acquisitions of steel wires. To differentiate two groups, we can add a freefield to enter the type of wires, steel or cuper in thisexample .
Group Tab
The group Tab contains two principal zones :
- In the left side a table that shows the groups available's in the database (see Group table ).- In the right side a few buttons ( see Group actions ) and filter controls (see Filter group ).
When you configure the first laboratory connexion, a default database is created. This database isin "Easy" mode. This mode is a simple samples acquisition.Any configuration is needed to perform sampleacquisition and save in database.
The group is created automatically with the current accessory configuration and the current unit. The group, according to the instrument configuration, open automatically the group and you areready to perform sample acquisition.Only one group per configuration (Unit/Accessory) is allowed.
Expert mode7.5.2
To benefit of the "Expert mode" features, you must change the database configuration. This change allows you to create many groups, create freefields, or use user login.
When database is in this mode, it is impossible to return in easy mode.
What is freefield ?7.5.3
For the laboratory configuration we use the term of "Freefield" to define a sample or group featurecreated by the user.
In CIMlab all the data are stored in SQLite database. CERSA preset the database with statisticsfields, instrument parameters and others fields like, date, time and user.To add specific parameters, we add the "freefield" field.
Each freefield add by the user appears like an additional column for sample or group record.

The following parameters configure the analog outputs of the instrument.
Test DAC: allows the user to make several tests over the analog outputs to verify a normalbehavior of the instrument.Configuration: defines electrical type configuration of analog output. Please contact CERSA-MCI for more details about this parameter.Measure: defines the forwarded measure in analog output.Zero point: when the measured value reaches the zero point value, the correspondinganalogical output is set to 0V. The unit of the zero point is the same as the correspondingmeasure.Scale: is the number of volts per measure unit. For example for position in millimeters 2 [V/mm]: if the measure varies of 1mm the value of analog output varies of 2 Volt.Regulation: if this option is activated, then the zero point value is automatically forced to thenominal tolerance value of the corresponding measure. Otherwise the zero point can have anyvalue.Average time: is the average time used to compute the analog output signal.

Digital interface tab
This tab contains two subregions in order to configure the digital interface of the instruments.
Test digital outputs
Allows the user to make several tests over the digital inputs and outputs to verify a normalbehavior of the instrument.
Digital input/outputs
This subregion allows user to configure input/outputs signals. The following configurations aregenerally used to give or receive a reference, event, alarm or status:
UNAVAILABLE (not exist in the current instrument)INPUTOUTPUTINPUT OUTPUTREFERENCE
Length counting
Pulse number: the number of pulses for one meter length.Measure: in case of the real speed and the measured speed are not perfectly correlated, youcan adjust this factor.
Please refer to the instrument manual for more details about configuration of digital input/outputs.
When a group is open, "Trigger mode" can't be modify by the Supervisor. To change equipment on LDS instrument ( WSR -> FootPedal ), you must close the group.
The control Trigger mode becomes active and can be switch on the different values.

Lab configuration button
All the database configuration of your lab is available in this interface.
When lab connexion is created, a default database is attached to your line. The default databaseis created in "Easy" mode. By clicking on "Lab configuration" button, a popup appears to answer if you want to open the firstlab line directly (Yes) or start the Lab configuration without database opened (No).
The interface of the database configuration for the lab :
Open a database. A file select window is open to choose your file.
Create a new database.
After clicking on this button "Create a new database", a windows is opened to choose path andfilename of the database :

Configure a database9.2This chapter explains the different terms used to configure a database.
Tabs description :
In the lab configuration, three tabs are present to configure the database.
Group configuration Sample field configuration
Configuration of the operators
Easy mode9.2.1
By default, if you create a database, the easy mode is active.
This mode is an automatic group creation, an automatic open for your instrument/CIM softwareconfiguration. In this mode you can not create manually new group, and only one group per configuration isallowed.
Expert mode9.2.2
If you change the database to expert mode, a warning message is shown.
If you accept, the database will pass in expert mode, the button is dimmed and you can not returnin easy mode for the current database.
in expert mode, you can use all of CIM laboratory's features.
See Group management and create new group for more informations.

Load file button
This function loads files that were created in production or in scopes. The following extensions arerecognized by the software:
.cimprd Created in production interface using save selection function. Or created automatically when cim data file record option is active in linemanager.
.cimscp Created using scope manager interface with save scopes or savesequence functions
.cimzip This file represents compressed data for production or scopes. Usepreferences interface to enable or disable this function.
.dblab This file represents the SQLite database of a lab line. It contains data and"wire" sample acquisitions, group of acquisition and cersa data.
Several files can be opened at the same time and the production runs simultaneously. Here belowsome examples of opened files.
In this scope file the next signal, previous signal and go to signal buttons are available to navigatein recorded signals. See save scopes and save sequence buttons for more details about savefunctions.

Please refer to Reportconfiguration topic for more information.Autosave : Enable automatic save of current production file when failure.Cim Id: Unique identifier for CIM instance in your factory. This parameter needs to be configuredin case of external database architecture. Please refer to line manager topic for more detailsabout line production configuration.Timeout ack.: Timeout used in each communication between CIM and the instrument in orderto start the exchange. The recommended value is 1 [second].
