The Pack began meeting here in March. They were in need of a new home and this, in turn, presented a wonderful opportunity for the church to broaden its outreach in the com- munity and embark on a new path of youth minis- try. Pack 53 is comprised of five dens, with approx- imately 40 boys in 1 st through 5 th grade, and includes a great group of volunteer leaders and in- volved parents. Pack 53 typically meets three Tuesdays per month during the school year with two meeting sched- uled as Den meetings in the Sunday school class- rooms (or outside) and one meeting as a Pack meeting in the Parish Life Center. In addition, the Pack is involved in activi- ties such as community service projects, Pin- ewood Derby car races, and (of course) lots of camping! Next month, the Pack is conducting a two day Explorers pro- gram at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center (Space Camp) in Huntsville, Ala- bama. Previous big out- ings were overnights on the USS Alabama and in the Cumberland Caverns. For families with young boys looking for a mean- ingful, fun activity, Cub Scout Pack 53 is a superb destination. Holy Apostles is pleased for the opportunity to Invite Welcome Connect In August of last year, Mary Parmer visited Holy Apostles and taught us the importance of Invite Welcome Connect. Since then, committees focused on each of these three areas have met to review the thoughts and ideas generated by her presen- tation and are in the pro- cess of developing a con- crete plan for implemen- tation in our parish. Our goal is to claim this important initiative and intentionally grow our membership and minis- try.
