In addition to English, and Spanish this Sacrament may also be in Italian.

•WEDDINGS/ MATRIMONIO Pre–marital instruction is a requirement for all engaged couples. Consequently, arrangements for weddings should be made SIX MONTHS in advance.

QUARTA DOMENICA DI PASQUA 26 DI APRILE, 2015

“Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said: ‘Leaders of the people and the elders: If we are being examined today about a good deed done to a cripple, namely, by what means he was saved, then all of you and all the people of Israel should know that it was in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth who was crucified, whom God raised from the dead, in his name that man stands

before you healed. He is the stone rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. There is no salvation through anyone else.” The sermons of Peter in the Acts of the Apostles, provide short, succinct summaries of why we are believers. Although he addresses leaders in his audience, he speaks to us of the power worked in the name of Jesus. Jesus, the cornerstone is the sole source of salvation. Many times a dated stone is found on a building, which contains a time capsule, reminding later generations of what was happening at the time it was put in place. We are told today that Jesus Christ is the foundation for our faith, our hope and actions. We become the voice of the good shepherd, that others will hear and become part of the one flock, under the one shepherd. In the words of Archbishop Romero ‘we are ministers, not Master builders, prophets of a future that is not our own.’ By Jesus we are healed, saved and sent.

“Pedro, lleno del Espíritu Santo, dijo: “Jefes del pueblo y ancianos, ya que hoy se nos pide cuenta del bien que hicimos a un enfermo y de cómo fue curado, sepan ustedes y todo el pueblo de Israel: este hombre está aquí sano delante de ustedes por el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo de Nazaret, al que ustedes crucificaron y Dios resucitó de entre los muertos. El es la piedra que ustedes, los constructores, han rechazado, y ha llegado a ser la piedra angular. A pesar de que su audiencia consistía de líderes, nos habla a nosotros sobre el poder trabajado en el nombre de Jesús. Jesús, la piedra anguar es la única fuente de salvación. A menudo en un edificio se encuentra una piedra fechada, que contiene un cápsula de tiempo, para recordarle a generaciones futuras de lo que sucedía cuando esa piedra se colocó. Hoy se nos dice que Jesucristo es la fundación de nuestra fe, nuestra esperanza y acciones. Nos convertimos en la voz del buen pastor, que otros escucharán y se volverán parte del rebaño, bajo un pastor. Con las palabras del Arzobispo Romero: ‘Somos albañiles, no jefes de obra, ministros, no el Mesías. Somos profetas de un futuro que no es nuestro.’ Por Jesús somos sanados, salvados y enviados.

Gesù è il dono del Padre. Chi è veramente Gesù? Niente come l’antitesi tra il Buon Pastore e il mercenario ce lo fa capire. In cosa si differenziano radicalmente le due figure? Non certo per il ruolo che, all’apparenza, sembra il medesimo. Li oppone e li divide la natura intima del rapporto con le pecore: la non appartenenza per il mercenario e l’appartenenza per il pastore. Se le

pecore non ti appartengono te ne vai quando arriva il lupo e le lasci alla sua mercé. Se sei un mercenario non t’importa delle pecore e non ti importa perché non le conosci. Non le conosci “per esperienza”, non le conosci per amore: esse non sono tue. E da che cosa si vede se sono tue? Che dai la vita per loro. Gesù dà la vita per noi. È lui che ce la dà, tiene a precisare, nessuno gliela toglie. Lui, solo lui, ha il potere di offrire la sua vita e di riprenderla di nuovo. In questo sta la sua autorevolezza, nel potere dell’impotenza, a cui Dio nella morte si è volontariamente esposto. Gli uomini possono seguire Gesù solo in forza di questa sua autorevolezza. Per essa ne conoscono la voce, subiscono il fascino della sua Presenza, si dispongono alla sequela. Solo nel vivere questa appartenenza il cristiano diventa a sua volta autorevole, cioè capace di incontrare l’altro, di amarlo e di dar la sua vita per lui. L’appartenenza fa essere eco fragile e tenace della sua Presenza e suscita la nostalgia di poterlo incontrare.
