• Preparations underway for Jason-2 cal-val
• Similar methodology planned: GPS buoys and longer term mooring deployments offshore from tide gauge and CGPS.
• National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) has funded 100+ CGPS sites for deployment in Australia (2007 -). Australian tide gauge sites high on the priority list.
• Burnie to get inland CGPS in addition to TG CGPS.
• NCRIS has also partly funded an equipment test of the FLTRS system at the Bass Strait site (2007/08). We look forward to this collaboration with our French colleagues.
• Currently planning logistics, site selection etc.
