A big start appears in the sky to show where Jesus was born.
Three kings went from their homes following
the star to give presents to Jesus.
An angel announced to the shepherds the Jesus
birth
In Spain children make performances in the
school.
Most of people make a “belen” and put it in their house. And they also have a Christmas
tree.
During the Christmas holiday children in Spain write their letters to the three Wise
Men, telling them what presents they would like.
On the 25th of December there is a big lunch with all the family in
Spain.
There is no special food like in England, you eat meat, or fish or soup. But there
are special sweets.
For example, these delicious “turrones”
or these sweets called “polvorones”
The 28th of December is “El Dia de los Inocentes”.
This day you can make do jokes to people.
Some people at night have dinner with their family, and with some friends.
At 11.30 some people go to the main square of their town to eat the twelve grapes.

•Eat the 12 grapes before the last peel to have luck. They have to eat them standing up only with the right leg to entry in the new year with a good foot.
• After the 12 grapes, they have to drink a glass of cava with something made of gold in it to have money the new year.
The 5th of January there is a procession.

When the procession is finished, you can go and talk to the three kings to remind them what presents
you would like for Christmas.
You should leave some milk and biscuits for the Three kings and a bucket with
water for their camels
