On the 25th of December, in the winter season we celebrate
Christmas, the feast of the birth of Baby Jesus in Betlehem.
There are various traditions related to Christmas.
In Malta most of the families decorate their houses weeks before Christmas with Christmas Decorations.
Some of these are :
Putting Baby Jesus in windows
The Crib
The village streets are decorated as well for Christmas time.
Another tradition is the Procession with baby Jesus the day before
Christmas. This is held by the Society of the Museum. The first to organize
this procession was Saint George Preca.
On Christmas Day in Midnight a mass is organized in almost all the
churches in Malta and Gozo. During this mass a child is chosen to make the Sermon of Christmas.
The traditional food and sweets of Christmas are:
The Turkey The christmas cake and “Il-qagħaq tal-għasel”

Christmas time is a celebration and this brings joyful moments to all
adults and kids.
