Merry Christmas! Christmas may look a little different this year. Isn’t that the phrase of 2020? A world-wide

pandemic will NOT stop Christmas from coming, and isn’t that the point of Christmas? Nothing will separate us

from God’s love. Romans 8:39

As you deal with the stress, anxiety, and disappointment of things not being the same this year, ponder on a new

tradition that brings you and your family closer to that precious Babe in Bethlehem.

This may be the year to

* that Advent devotional (call the office if you need one)

* call or send a card to someone from our Zion family who you miss

* reach out to someone who has experienced a loss this year Merry Christmas!

Rachel, Zion Parish Nurse

Christmas” during both Children’s Messag-

es. They will also have all of Tom’s books

Dear Friends ….

Here we are in December and

Advent then Christmas! The word

Advent literally means “coming” or

“arrival.” During the season of

Advent, we wait for our Lord’s

coming or arrival even as we live

now in His forgiveness. We live and

wait in hope as we remember the

ways in which our God in Christ

has come and promises to come

again for us.

From Revelation 22:20, He who is

the faithful witness to all these

things says, “Yes, I am coming

soon!” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!

He has come for us in the incarnate

Jesus Christ. He continues to come

for us even now through the person

of Jesus Christ as He is present in

the hearing of the Word, Baptism

and the Lord’s Supper. He promises

to return to us in the Second

Coming of Jesus Christ to bring to

completion the entire work of

salvation that He began through

Jesus’ incarnation.

During Advent, we consider all of

these ways in which God is

present for us in Christ and at the

same time we move closer and

closer to the day in which we

celebrate this God who comes near

to us by celebrating His birth.

And as we celebrate this season of

hope … please consider giving a

donation to Zion Lutheran’s

gathering for the St. Francis

House and its residents. You can

review the list here in the Clarion.

We usually collect food items

during our Streets of Bethlehem

pageant day but we are not

holding it this year so we changed

it up a bit.

The St. Francis House rebuilds

lives by providing refuge and

pathways to stability for adults

Whatever way you plan to celebrate

Christmas, it is my prayer that it be

safe and filled with great meaning

that leads you to trust more and

more God’s love and forgiveness

that has come through this Babe in

Bethlehem and His name is Jesus!

Peace and Joy in the Baby Jesus!
