In graphic designer, ever y project or design i s a problem to solve using d i f ferent

equat ions. To reach to the f ina l solut ion, there a re 4 processe s in design: re sea rch,

create , ref ine, and produce. Successfu l ly complet ing each of these processe s require s

re solve. Resea rching re solves in idea s , creat ing re solves in concept s , re f in ing re solves

in designs, and producing re solves in f ina l product s . There i s a unique equat ion for

each project that re solves in a speci f ic outcome. A s a graphic designer, it i s my essen-

t ia l purpose to re solve a l l these equat ions and f ind thei r solut ions.

Using 2 adject ives , br ing new l i fe to an ex i st ing , defunct brand. Rebranding i s not

just creat ing a new logo and ident it y system, but d i scover ing the nuances in the

creat ion of a whol i s t ic brand.

solut ion

( a ) First choose 2 words, “ f re sh” and “enjoyment,” whi le th ink ing of rebranding

a soda or ju ice brand. A f ter v i sua l i z ing these words and re sea rching on the

market , decide to rebrand Nehi mult i f ru it-f lavored soda s because they a re not

a s popu la r a s they were in 1924; many people have not even hea rd about it .

( b ) Make the brand look younger, at t ract ive , fun, and compet it ive to other popu-

la r f ru it-f lavored soda brands l ike Fanta and Crush. Design the logo out of

dot s to represent soda bubbles and have some bubbles r i se f rom the let ters to

reta in the idea of f re shness .

( c ) Expand the or ig ina l mult i f ru it-f lavored idea s to 20 f lavors with 20 colors for

the brand extension. A lso, create packaging for soda cans and bot t le s , vending

machines , and a Nehi reta i l s tore.

This format wi l l g ive the books f lex ibi l it y of at taching d i f ferent object s .
