Christine Zhang ’09 Data journalism could be either the future of news or just another fad. Although the philosophy of data journalism is nothing new, practices have changed with time and technology. Christine Zhang ’09, a Knight-Mozilla OpenNews Fellow at the LA Times, will present what she's learned about finding stories in numbers. Christine Zhang tells data-driven stories as part of the news team on the Los Angeles Times data desk. As a Knight-Mozilla OpenNews Fellow she has worked on stories about women leaders around the world and homelessness in Los Angeles. Previously, she worked with data at the Brookings Institution in Washington, DC, Deutsche Bank and Infosys. Free, open to the public and wheelchair accessible.
