CHRIST REVEALED
Christ Glorified
Biblical Church History
Following the Hand of God and the Hand of Satan
Laying the Foundation for Church History
I. WHY DO WE NEED TO STUDY
CHURCH HISTORY
1. Because God told
us to.
(Job 8:8-10) For enquire, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thyself
to the search of their fathers: (For we are but of
yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow:)
Shall not they teach thee, and tell thee, and utter words out of their
heart?
2. Because of what
will happen to us if
we don’t.
(Pro 22:28) Remove not the ancient
landmark, which thy fathers have set.
(Pro 23:10) Remove not the old landmark; and enter not into the
fields of the fatherless:
II. FORMULATING A
BIBLICAL DEFINITION OF
CHURCH HISTORY
1. Seeing the Blue
Print God used
in Creation
(Rom 1:20) For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly
seen, being understood by the
things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that
they are without excuse:
2. God’s system
of three’s
RELATED TO THAT WHICH IS PHYSICAL Man= Body, Soul and Spirit
Environment= Sky , land and water Kingdoms = Animal, Vegetable and mineral Dimensions = Height, width and depth Colors = Red, yellow and blue Elements = Liquid, gas and solids Atoms = Neutrons, electrons, and protons
RELATED TO TIME Time = Past, Present, and Future
AS IT RELATES TO HIS PLAN God has a plan for the universe and this earth (That’s the past) God has a plan for the Nation of Israel (That’s the future) God has a plan for your Individual Life (That’s the present)
3. God lay out
the blueprint
before building
(Ecc 3:15) That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already
been; and God requireth that which is past.
Comparing the 1st coming with the 2nd coming
1. Rome was in power the 1st time
2. The Jew was in the land
3. He came in two stages
4. The bible records 4 accounts of his 1st coming
1. Rome will be in power
2. The Jew will be in the land
3. He will return in two stages
4. The bible records 4 account of his 2nd coming
4. When you take out the history
you lose the jew
(Pro 22:28) Remove not the ancient
landmark, which thy fathers have set.
(Pro 23:10) Remove not the old landmark; and enter not into the
fields of the fatherless:
