CAREGIVER FELLOWSHIP " There are only four kinds of people in the world. Those who have been caregivers, those who are currently caregivers, those who will be caregivers and those who will need caregivers."- Rosalyn Carter. If you are currently a caregiver, please join us for fellowship on Friday, April 27, from 2:00-3:00 p.m. for prayers, sharing, caring, and coffee.
Fellow Disciples of Jesus, Not too long ago, I had finished my latest batch of home-brew beer. Would it be any good? Well, the only way to find out was to do a taste test and let that glorious fermented nectar wash over my taste buds. For Easter, I received some kolaches. Would they be any good? Well, the only way to find out was to test one by taking a bite into that gloriously buttery dough filled with apricot. In today’s gospel, Jesus stands in the midst of the disciples and says “peace be with you”. But does he really bring peace? Is he really all that good? Well, the only way to find out is by testing him out and letting his glorious grace and love wash over our lives. Jesus challenges the apostles who are troubled and afraid. He urges them to check out his hands and feet; to really encounter him and see test that he truly is who he says he is. We are given the same challenge and invitation. In a life full of troubles, ques-tions and even fears, Jesus invites us to encounter him, to test him and to experi-ence his goodness. But is he really all that good? The only way to know the good-ness of a beer or kolache is by experiencing it and discovering it’s glorious flavor. The only way to know the peace that only Christ can bring is by experiencing his love and grace and discovering that he truly is who he says he is.
In Christ Our Hope,
Father Kyle
A Huge Help to Fr. Kyle Often time’s people ask me how I can keep up with being pastor of 6 parishes. The truth is that I can’t… on my own. That
is why I am so thankful for all who serve on different committees throughout the cluster. The Cluster Council and Faith For-
mation Commission have been a great help to discuss creative ideas and ways to help our families and communities have a
real encounter with Jesus Christ who brings joy and peace to our lives. The Parish Life groups provide so much service and
hospitality helping our communities be united as the body of Christ. Parish nominations and elections are coming up at the
end of the month. Please pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit and, if you are nominated, please seriously consider a call
to serve on these very helpful committees. God bless! – Fr. Kyle

MISSION APPEAL The Sisters of St. Francis’ missioners will be speaking at Sunday Masses the weekend of May 5th and 6th. The Sisters serve those who are poor, with foreign missions in Mexico and home missions in Appalachia. In remote areas of Mexico they work to build faith communities where there are no priests for regular Sunday Masses. Sisters also give children living in ex-treme poverty the opportunity to obtain an education plus emergency needs of food and medicine. Appalachian ministries include faith development and pastoral care, adult literacy, and emergency outreach of food, clothing, and shelter for the poor. Please help make a difference in the lives of people suffering from poverty with your prayers and financial support.
