PROFILE I have been working as a professional architect for the past 16 years. I have worked in Botswana, New Zealand, England, South Africa and Zambia in a variety of architectural practices, on a wide range of projects. These range from large hospitals, government and non government buildings, developer funded multi-unit residential projects, educational, institutional, private houses, inter alia. The scope of my involvement has typically been from project inception, feasibility, initial scheme design, design development, contract documentation, contract administration and project completion. My interest is in design which is beautiful and respects society and the environment. I was project architect on a remote Pol ice outpost in the Kalahar i Deser t . This inc luded 24 houses in an attached pol ice vi l lage, Pol ice stat ion, Pol ice cel ls , Communicat ions centre, Workshop and Stores .
I was project architect on a competit ion entr y for the Botswana Power Corporat ion Train ing Centre, inc luding Accommodation for students , Train ing workshop, Faci l i t ies and an Administrat ion centre.
I was project architect on the Botswana Centre for Distance Learning. (BOCODOL) This inc luded 18 houses, an Administrat ion centre, a Studio to prepare distance learning materia l , a Librar y, Teaching spaces and c lassrooms, a Canteen and Computer tra in ing fac i l i ty al l designed around a cour tyard to enhance col laborat ion.
I assisted on a sustainable , natural ly venti lated award winning technology centre (BOTEC)
In New Zealand;
I was project architect on the re-development of a major vehic le showroom and workshop inc luding substant ia l landscape design to mitigate pol lut ion from the fac i l i ty (as required by an extensive resource consent approval process) .
I was project architect on a recycl ing fac i l i ty inc luding temporar y storage and administrat ion off ice also subject to an onerous resource consent process .
I was project architect on var ious Mult i Unit Residentia l projects in which maximis ing the return on investment within a t ight design schedule was impor tant .
In the United Kingdom:
I was lead technica l design architect on two large NHS Hospita ls bui lt on a PFI Joint Venture working c losely with the contractor to achieve compl iance with design standards and construct ion budgets .
I assisted in var ious competit ion proposals for Healthcare fac i l i t ies .
In South Afr ica ;
I worked on a major Transpor t Interchange Faci l i ty located in Namibia integrated into the exist ing town layout . The fac i l i ty, c lustered around a tower, inc luded long route bus stat ion, shor t route taxi stat ion, retai l and food preparat ion, chi ld care fac i l i ty, secure vehic le parking, administrat ion centre and cultural tour ism spaces. I fur ther worked on private houses in c lose col laborat ion with contractors .
In Zambia ;
I was project architect on a large vehic le showroom, workshop and vehic le c lear ing fac i l i ty.
I was project architect on the development of the German Embassy in Lusaka and new Visa sect ion.
I was design architect on var ious educat ional projects ranging from the development of a new school to developing a proposal for a remote learning fac i l i ty uti l is ing new teaching technology.
I was design architect on a new healthcare c l in ic .
I was design architect on a new agriculture seed fac i l i ty, inc luding off ice , tra in ing centre and canteen for large subsistence farmer groups.
