Zack Grossi teamed with Ryan Stewart on a 61-yard scoring strike with 8:58 left in the first quarter. Senior defen- sive end (Cumberland, Md./Fort Hill) blocked the extra point attempt. Junior quarterback (Davidsonville, Md./South River) con- nected with sophomore wide receiver (Lusby, Md./Patuxent) on a 27- yard scoring strike on a fourth-and-13 play with 6:14 left in the first quarter to give the Rams a 14-6 advantage. The Mountain Lions tied the game on a nine- yard pass from Grossi to pass to Garrett Hammett with six sec- onds left in the first quarter. Brian Kennedy connected with Chris Rodriguez on the two- point play. Concord took a 21-14 lead into halftime on a three-yard run by Kennedy with 9:08 left in the second quarter. John Scritchfield added the extra point. Rodriguez, who rushed for a game-high 87 yards on 12 carries, rambled 53 yards for a touchdown with 14:17 left in the game to seal the win. Cooper completed 20-of-38 passes for 148 yards for the Rams. Sophomore running back (Elgin, Ill./Eastern Illinois) led the Shepherd ground game with 40 yards on 17 car- ries. Randall Hawkins had 10 receptions for 128 yards for the Mountain Lions. Shepherd was limited to only 204 yards of total offense while Concord amassed 461 total offensive yards. Shepherd falls to 4-1, 2-1 in WVIAC play, while Concord improves to 3-2, 3-0. The Rams return to action next Saturday when they travel to West Virginia Wesleyan for a noon contest.
