Twenty eight hours of printing, 108 hours of installation labor hours and 1,380 square feet of print film are responsible for the new look in the Springboro High School gymnasium. Take a look at the 115 feet south wall of the gym- nasium above the stands and those numbers are not too surprising. It began with Troy Holtrey’s (Springboro’s boys’ varsity basketball coach and for- mer SHS athletic director) desire to change the look of the gymnasium, along with a meeting with Side Effects’ Bob Westerfield. But the school day will end sooner. According to SHS Principal Dr. Ron Malone, school will start at 7:30 a.m. The school day, he said, will end at 2:25 p.m. Malone said the 7:30 a.m. starting time was selected to allow for five min- utes of announcements. "This is our announcement time and it impacts the amount of instructional time in first period," Malone stated. The change in time coincides with the reissuing of high school busing beginning Jan. 3.
