Torrential rains accompanied with strong winds have been lashing the coastal areas of S-SE Bangladesh causing heavy damages. As result, 21 people from six districts have been killed and almost half a million persons evacuated to shelters. Many areas remain flooded with houses heavily affected or destroyed. Due to torrential rains the regions have been affected by landslides. The present map shows basic topographic features derived from public datasets, refined by means of visual interpretation of pre-event imagery.
