Comings and Goings
Nicky Siegman wrote, “Dick and I are looking forward to our October mini vacation. We're driving to Asheville, NC and Charleston, SC for a few days of R & R then back home to the daily grind. Kate Wilde wrote, “Rob and I are
spending ten days in Narragansett, RI with the six grand-kids. It just started today so no stories yet. We all get together two times a year in a big old house in summer and just before Christmas. Anne Pray wrote, “Bill and I celebrated our 60th wedding anniversary with a party for 110 guests on July 21. Our granddaughters sang, danced and one wore three of my vintage gowns including my wedding gown. I also had the dress my mother wore and her corsage. We told our love story and renewed our vows.” Sylvia Reeves wrote, “I missed being at the August luncheon but am having a wonderful time at our family home in Beach Mountain, NC. We are enjoying a break from the heat with the 60 degree weather here. I am hop-ing the fall leaves will turn early this year so I cam see some of them before we return to Florida next month.”
Thank You Pat Geasa would like to thank all the ladies for the prayers, cards and phone calls for her recent hip surgery. All went well, now is recuperation/rehab time. Fred (Scotty) Cleland wrote, " Thank you so much for your prayers and support dealing with this time of sor-row". Editor’s note: Scotty is Carla Hensen’s father.

August Luncheon
It was great to have President Kathy Kennett back
from her travels. She gave a snippet of her adventures then
led us in the pledge of allegiance to our flag and gave an
invocation.
Kathy was the only birthday gal present so she asked
us not to sing to her but we did anyway. She turns 56 this
month and always brings a ray of sunshine with her.
We were so happy to have another new member.
Millie Dalcourt joined our MOWC and her husband joined
MOAA Tampa Chapter. They are a beautiful young couple
with two teenagers (14 & 17) at home and two other chil-
dren (19 & 23) who have left the nest. Her husband,
Charles, is thinking about retiring from the US Army after
many years of service.
Lasagna was the delicious main course from our
buffet. They also served cannoli cake, cheese cake and key
lime pie. Ummm.
We had fun playing three games of BINGO and the
winners each took home $5.00. Kathy read off the numbers
and the ladies played one to three cards trying to be the
lucky winner. I think some of them had a hard time seeing
their cards because they were laughing so hard. BINGO
reaped $24.00 and 50/50 raised $22.00.
Nicky Siegman is doing a great job purchasing little
items for the door prizes. (Says she loves to shop) Uschi
Farnham and Ivy Cranford set high standards in previous
years and the ladies really look forward to taking some-
thing interesting and useful home. The winners were
Valerie Andrews, Kathleen Kuhl, Betsy Wicker and Millie
Dalcourt. Both parts of 50/50 were won by Valerie
Andrews so she went home a ‘happy camper’.
Don’t forget to come next month on September 13.
