HIGHLIGHTS
First class districtGood, strong populations of both muntjac andChinese water deerGood chance of a medal winning trophyEnglish countryside with farmland, meadows, hedgerows, woods together with charming townsand narrow, winding roads
Overview
The sprightly little muntjac was introduced to WoburnAbbey from India in the 19th Century.
In 1901 a number of animals were released into the wildfrom Woburn, and in the years following a “wild”population of animals established itself in a number ofdifferent counties in southern England.
We have an exclusive agreement with this district in themiddle of England, and here you can find really goodpopulations of muntjac and Chinese water deer. Muntjackeeps to dense vegetation such as Gramble scrub, rhododendron woods and the like, where it is easy to findcover. The muntjac is a very active animal, feeding onmany different plants in different parts of the area.
The hunting is a mix of stalking and lying in wait, and anumber of high seats have been placed strategicallyaround the district. The chances of a medal winning trophyare good. The hunt can also be combined with hunting forfallow buck.
In the middle of England you will find typical Englishcountryside with areas of farmland, meadows, hedgerowsand woods, along with charming villages, narrow windingroads, large country houses and stately homes and veryfriendly and hospitable locals.
Accommodation is provided in a charming little hotel, where ourguest will typically sleep in a twin two-bedded room, withbathroom and toilet, unless agreed otherwise. It is possible to stayin a single room on payment of a supplement.
The price includes a ”full English breakfast”, which anyone whohas ever eaten one knows, will set you up for most of the rest ofthe day. The hotel is very cozy, with real English charm and agood atmosphere. It lies only a 20 minute drive from the huntingdistrict.
It is therefore easy and convenient to go back and forth from thehunting district. In the city you can find a number of small, charming restaurants and pubs. It is a very fashionable town, onlyan hour and a half from London! The most convenient airport tofly to is London Luton, which is only around a half hour drive fromthe hotel.
Our partner has access to some of the very best districts forChinese water deer and muntjac. The population of Chinesewater deer in he's districts is the best in southern England.
He is passionate about hunting, and will always to his best forvisiting hunters.
We can only recommend him wholeheartedly, he fulfils all ourexpectations of how a hunt should be carried out, and thistogether with the level of service and expertise he provides, is thereason why many of our hunters happily visit his splendid huntingdistricts time after time.
The countryside is typical English farmland in character, withmeadows, hedgerows and woodland. You can drive alongwinding roads between charming small towns and villages, nowand again passing by some of the many stately homes and manorhouses found in the region.
The locals are also very friendly and welcoming here. All in all, thedistrict is well worth a visit!
Al the guides of course speak English, and are very friendly andhelpful.
