2018 was yet another milestone year for Dunman High Chinese Orchestra as we celebrated the 45th year of the orchestra’s establishment. The year opened on a high note with the orchestra performing for distinguished guests from the STEP programme in January as well as during our school’s Chinese New Year celebration in February.
In March, the orchestra staged its annual concert, “An Evening of Chinese Rhapsodies”, which featured famous pieces such as Three Companions of Winter - Pine, Bamboo, Wintersweet from composer Gu Guan Ren. This sold-out Concert was graced by Ms Low Yen Ling, Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Trade and Industry, Mayor South-West District as the Guest of Honour, together with other distinguished guests. The concert was a great opportunity for the students to demonstrate their talents and it was well-received by all who attended.
