Topics addressed include neurodevelopment, epilepsy and associated disorders, neurogenetics, stroke, brain tumors, and neurobehavioral and metabolic disorders. Didactic lectures, case-based and interactive formats will be used to cover these topics. Interactive workshops will include anticonvulsant use, sleep management, ADHD management, neurobehavioral management, pain management, headache management, concussion management and stroke management. An activity highlight is the presentation of patient cases for discussion and examination on Thursday evening in the Ether Dome at Massachusetts General Hospital. Learning Objectives Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to: • Recognize the clinical features and discuss current categorization of the wide scope of neurodevelopmental and pediatric neurologic disorders highlighted in this course • Develop a strategy for the diagnostic work-up of the common and some of the rarer pediatric neurology problems seen in the clinic • Understand diagnostic tools available to the pediatric neurologist for patient evaluation and follow-up, including the currently available molecular genetic screening resources • Discuss the management tools available to the pediatric neurologist for ongoing care including stabilization measures and direct treatment options • Summarize current dilemmas and research advances for all topics and disor - ders presented in this course Target Audience Physicians, Psychologists, Mental Health Professionals, Residents Accreditation The Harvard Medical School is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
