• In Guatemala child labor is big because most people are poor there, and the parents get 30% of the money for income. Another thing is the children don’t get an education so they don’t have power to do what they want in life.

• Guatemala is the size of Tennessee • Its friends A.K.A. neighbors are Mexico on the

north &west, and Belize, Honduras, and El Salvador are east

• The cool highlands with the heaviest population • The tropical area along the Pacific and

Caribbean coasts• The tropical jungle in the northern lowlands

(known as the Petén).

What is Child Labor

• The sad thing about it is that the kids pay 30% of their parents income.

• Many children work up to 17 hours a day. Street vending, shoe shining, washing & watching cars, begging, and performing talents on the streets (torch blowing, juggling, singing) and an important ones are prostitution and theft.

• Why do we need child labor?

• We have people that work in factories and they get paid for doing the work.

• The children get paid barely nothing and they have to work for up to 17 hours a day.
