Digitising the last mile: Client onboarding

It can take an RM up to three months to onboard a client manually; and with compliance teams ratcheting up their scrutiny of KYC and AML controls, the onboarding process is becoming more onerous – and costly. It is for these reasons that the ‘last mile’ of client experience is going through major digital transformations and this gives rise to a set of new questions: How can you reliably authenticate somebody’s identity online? How do you integrate legally valid electronic signatures with current systems? What are the best practices when it comes to onboarding your client digitally?

Achieving end-to-end eciency in Asia's private banks

Singapore – a crucial wealth management hub – is adjusting to the new realities of the industry, battling myriad challenges and finding diverse pathways to lasting success. Why the future will involve bionic robo-advisors

It is easy to see why robo advisors have a place in this market. However, good financial advice depends on factors that even the most sophisticated of today’s robots can sometimes overlook – factors like intellectual capital and nuance. So is the future all about a hybrid approach that leverages both the human and robot? If so, how will private banks harness bionic tools while meeting client suitability requirements?

Bang for your buck: ROIs and top lines

It has been roughly two years since private banks pumped up their technology budgets. How have these investments performed? What are the key metrics private banks (should) use to measure return on investments in the tech space and which investments have had the greatest impact to the top line so far?
