on Thursday, May 29 at 6:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. An itinerary of the tour will be given at this meeting. If the Lord is leading you to partner with the choir in prayer for the tour, contact Todd or Bobbie via email ([email protected] or [email protected]) or by calling the church office (526-7108). We are praying for “God-appointments” for ministry, salvations, spiritual growth in our own lives, and safe travels.
The choir also sings locally, having just sung at the Cookeville Rescue Mission on May 7. The choir will sing in the Home Concert in worship on Sunday, June 8 at 6:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. In addition, T.J. Timmerman recently represented the choir at the Tennessee Baptist Men’s Chorale (TMC) and Women’s Chorus (TLC) concert at Grace Baptist Church in Tullahoma, TN on May 2. T.J. was selected to sing a solo on Washed Away at the annual Youth Project held in Dandridge, TN in January, where just under 300 youth gathered for a weekend of singing, worship, and fellowship. He was then invited to sing along with two other soloists from Youth Project at the TMC/TLC concert. Both he and A.J. Cochrane have also sung solos in Washed Away at FBC Cookeville during the Maundy Thursday service and at the Cookeville Rescue Mission on May 7. The song speaks of Christ interceding for each of us for the forgiveness of our sins and celebrates the love poured out for us on the cross. The choir is committed to reaching people for Christ, singing songs of our faith in Christ that others would be called into fellowship with Him.

Throughout the month of April, First Baptist Church provided snacks for and packed backpacks for students at Parkview Elementary School. Individuals from First
Baptist and mission groups like the Royal Ambassadors packed 130 backpacks each week in April. Thanks to generous individuals in the church we had plenty of snacks for the backpacks. These backpacks help feed students in need on the weekends. Each Friday the children take home a sack in
their backpacks with two pop top meals, two cereals, two juices, two milks, two fruits and two snacks.
IMPACTING OUR COMMUNITY
IMPACT THE WORLD Be a part of FBC’s eye-glass team that will work in India with 29 church planters FBC has helped support and train Sept. 17-22. There will be an informational meeting Wednesday, May 21 at 5:00 p.m. in Room 145.
Join us for an informational meeting on Sunday, May 18 at 5:00 p.m. in Room 145 as we plan a trip to St. Lucia December 4-11 to work with our church planters Nat and Fiffy Goolaman (right). We will work with Christmas packages for needy chil-dren and share the Gospel with them and their families.
