The government's focus is more on skill development so as to generate more employable
manpower. Therefore the Industry of skill development and entrepreneurship has suggested the opening of India’s first National Skill Development
University in Raipur which will bring out the Chhattisgarh Development.
It will tell us the importance of benefits of apprenticeship and give training which can bring a vast change in business, individuals
and the overall economy.
The objectives of the scheme are:
I. For improving the employability of school leavers, ITI graduates, some of the existing workers etc. They are given vocational training by optimally utilizing the infrastructure available in Govt., private institutions and the Industry. Existing skills of the persons can also be tested and certified under this scheme.
II. Building capacity in the area of development of competency standards, course curriculam, learning.
It will take the responsibility for co-ordination of all skill development efforts across the
country, removal of disconnect between demand and supply of skilled manpower, skill up-
gradation, building of new skills, and innovative thinking not only for existing jobs but also for
jobs that are to be created.
The state of mineral-rich Chhattisgarh is among the three states in the country for recording
highest development expenditure.
Regarding the Chhattisgarh Development, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has ranked it in
the list of one of the top three states with highest spending on development work. The
other two states include Bihar and Jharkhand.
The RBI reported that in 2012-13 the financial management in Chhattisgarh state was in a far better position. The state government had been
spending 49.3 per cent of its total budget on the social sector that is more than the national
average of 40 per cent.
Within 14 years it has emerged as one of the fastest developing states in the country. It has
registered all round development on a number of platforms and made its presence felt at the
national level.
Chhattisgarh development can be easily measured by the development of new
administrative capital Naya Raipur. The state has taken leadership for its vision and commitment
to sustainable development.
Naya Raipur is the planned capital city of 21st century in India and is being developed as a modern and green city. For making the state eco-friendly the
special features such as rain water harvesting and harvesting of solar energy have been included.
Comfort and security to the citizens are being ensured through dedicated bus lanes, cycle tracks, pedestrian
pathways and barrier free movement.
