OveradecadeagoPresident&CEOChrisPetersstartedtheradioshow“NativePulse”atKHSU90.5ontheHumboldtStateUniversitycampusinArcata,CA.Nowyearslater,theradioshowhastransferredtoastudiointheSGFMediaDepartmentandtransformedintoamulti‐mediaapproachfeaturingnewsandcurrenteventsofSeventhGenerationFund’swork,it’sProjectsandAfQiliates.Itnowincludesavarietyofmediaformssuchaspublications,shortvideomessagesandradiospots.SeventhGenerationFund’sMediaDepartmenthasbeenactivelyproducingvideo’s,radiospotsandleadingmediatraining'sinmanyIndigenouscommunities.

Themostrecentvideo,producedundercontract,waswiththeCheyenneRiverYouthProjectoftheCheyenneRiverTribeinMontana.“TheSGFMediaDepartmenthasproducedagoodamountofpositivemediaonsometoughissuesinIndianCountry,challengingissueslikedomesticviolenceanddiabetesprevention.Nextmonth,wearestartingamethawarenessmediacampaignvideoproductionwiththeCheyenneRiverLakotaTribe,”saidSeventhGenerationFundMediaDirector,Christopher(Mo)Hollis,aftertravelingtotheCheyenneRiverIndianReservationforaweekofQilminganddialogue.TheSeventhGenerationFundforIndianDevelopmentisanIndigenousidentity‐basednon‐

proQitorganizationwhosemissionisdedicatedtotheself‐determinationofIndigenousPeoplesandthesovereigntyofourdistinctNations.Foundedin1977byNativeAmericanchiefs,clan‐mothers,scholars,youth,activistsandtribalphilosophers,SeventhGenerationFundistheQirstIndigenousPeoples’initiatedandledpublicfoundation.Asanintermediaryinternationalnon‐proQitorganizationweareuniquelysituatedtoserveNativecommunityinitiativesandasabridgeandtranslatorbetweentheIndigenousWorld,thepublicsector,andphilanthropy.
