The Raman spectrum of diphenylcyclopropenone has been measured in various liquids includingroom temperature ionic liquids. We found a good linear correlation between the acceptor number ofliquid and the vibrational frequency of the C=C and C=O stretching mode. From the correlation,we have successfully determined acceptor number of several room temperature ionic liquids.

388 Fabrication of Polyaniline/EthylcelluloseComposite Microspheres by Microencapsu-lation
Polyaniline/ethylcellulose composite microsphereswere prepared by microencapsulation technique viaa modified emulsion−solvent evaporation method. Thecore was gained through the polymerization of aniline, while the shell was formed by the solidification ofethylcellulose under the condition of the evaporationof organic solvent. Microscopic study showedthat composite particles were all spherical in shapewith micron size. In scanning electron microscopeobservation, it can be seen that the size distribution ofcomposite particles is fairly narrow. The surface ofshell is rough and has some macropores. The structuresof composite microspheres were further characterizedby Fourier transform infrared spectra and UV–visspectra.
