Design and create an infographic to be shared on Pinterest.

I created the graphics, images, and shapes in Illustrator. I gathered the information from the members of the group and created the charts. I chose tasteful typography and an engaging layout that help the viewer move through the page.

Business card and letterhead design for a company called The Wooly Bee. October 2016

Comm 130: Visual Media

Jason Stucki

Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign

Design a logo for a client and use that logo to create a letterhead and business card.

I sketched and brainstormed logo ideas for my chosen company. I then created the logo in Illustrator. I used elements from each of the three logos I created for my final piece. I placed the logo design into an InDesign document, where I perfected the layout of each element of the design.

Create a photography montage with a spiritual theme using appropriate images and tasteful typography.

I researched quotes that I wanted to use and found photos that fit with the theme of the quote. I used Photoshop to overlay the images and texture, blending the edges to make sure everything flowed together.

Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign

Design a magazine cover for a client using the FOCUS steps and principles.

I used Photoshop to edit the image. I cut out the head shape so that I could place it on top of the text. Using InDesign, I determined the layout and placed all of the elements in. I used paragraph styles and character styles to style the text.

A brochure featuring my fine artwork and contact information December 2016

Comm 130: Visual Media

Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator

Create a logo and use it to design and create a folded brochure.

I made the logo using Illustrator. The layout for my brochure was basically a large version of my logo, so I created the brochure shape in Illustrator as well. I formatted the images using Photoshop. And, I used InDesign to put it all together. I added the text in InDesign and used paragraph and character styles as well as text wrapping to format the text.

Arti st Statement

I have always been creative. During

childhood, my creativity was channeled in music and

crafts. After high school, I had the pleasure of working at a frame shop/ art gallery, where my

artistic spark was ignited. I worked with fabulous artists

pieces. It wasn’t until after I was married,

though, in 2007, that I attempted

to paint.

I started out painting random objects from around my simply

furnished newlywed apartment. I did paintings of toothbrushes,

chairs, and faucets.

I then began participating in weekly painting projects, where I would

create a small painting every week. The subject matter was

chosen by another artist, Karin Jurick, who would become an

incredible source of inspiration for me.

After painting

hundreds of different

subjects, I found I was most excited

by pet portraits and still lifes. I try to capture

a feeling, a likeness, or a memory in the paintings I create.

Adobe Photoshop, Nikon D3200

Create a poster incorporating a high quality image, color scheme, some text, and some other design elements.

I photographed many objects in and around my home, including this train. I then found a quote I liked. In Photoshop, I edited the image to increase the intrigue and to push the colors more toward my chosen color scheme. I added the text and other design elements.

Design and create a webpage featuring the logo we created from week 7.

I first created the logos and completed the 7A project using Illustrator. I used the eye dropper to pick the correct colors for the webpage. I used Notepad++ to layout the html and CSS documents. I used a validator to validate the code.

Use a grid to create a webpage for a business using Photoshop.

After sketching and deciding how I wanted my webpage to look, I created a grid in Photoshop to begin putting it together. I found appropriate images and created clipping masks within Photoshop to get them the correct sizes. I decided that the background was too simple, so I created a watercolor styled painting, also in Photoshop, to be the background. I created the social media icons as well as the logo in Illustrator.

Adobe Photoshop, Prezi software

Use the Prezi software to create a visual presentation to be viewed on the web.

I had to play around with the software a bit to figure out what its capabilities were. I decided on the theme and layout of the presentation and began building it. I used Photoshop to edit the images. After the presentation was complete, I decided to add some music to make it a little more interesting.

Packaging, including bottle labels and box design, for a mock soda brand. June 2014

Art 235: Graphic Design

Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator

Design believable packaging for a made-up soda brand. I first had to sketch and brainstorm about the soda company I wanted to create. I then used mostly Illustrator to actually build the labels. I had to actually get things printed and built, so there was a lot of time spent tweaking and perfecting. Finally, I had to photograph my designs to include in an online portfolio, Behance.

A public service announcement poster. July 2014

Art 235: Graphic Design

Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator

Design a striking PSA poster. The formulate step for this project was long and intense. I had to decide on a message and how best to portray that message. I decided to make a PSA about putting down our devices: “Take a Power Nap.” I took photographs to use on my poster, actually made the little pillow and eye mask, and put it all together using Photoshop and Illustrator.
