Itell you the truth, they have received all thereward they will ever get. 3But when you give to
someone in need, dont let your left hand knowwhat your right hand is doing. 4Give your gifts inprivate, and your Father, who sees everything,will reward you.

5When you pray, dont be like the hypocriteswho love to pray publicly on street corners and inthe synagogues where everyone can see them. Itell you the truth, that is all the reward they willever get. 6But when you pray, go away byyourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to
your Father in private. Then your Father, whosees everything, will reward you. 7When you pray, dont babble on and on as
people of other religions do. They think theirprayers are answered merely by repeating theirwords again and again. 8Dont be like them, foryour Father knows exactly what you need evenbefore you ask him!
