    Industrial visit: Mercedes Benz

    I know you All those who are going to read this articledo love the Mercedes brand and also have a dream of

    possessing a car from MB stable. So, the same way itwas a feast for my eyes when I entered into this plant.

    Mercedes-Benz, a division of Daimler, plant is locatedat Pimpri, Pune. This plant was set up for the Indianmarket back in 1994; this was a joint venture ofDaimler-Benz and Telco for the production and sales oftheir cars in India. The first authorized dealership wasset up in March 1997 and the first authorized servicestation was also set up in August same year. Mercedes-Benz India Limited was rechristened to Daimler-Chrysler India Pvt. Ltd. in September 2001 and it was

    one of the first auto joint ventures set up in India. Youall will be amazed to know that this plant has beenawarded the best Mercedes-Benz plant outsideGermany many times. MBRDI is the largest Daimler AGR&D center outside of Germany and makes significantcontributions in the areas of Engineering Services,Electrical / Electronics, and IT & Business Services. Thistells us the quality of the cars produced here in India.They have around 24 authorized dealerships all overIndia along with their highly equipped service stationswhere they provide world-class service but charge aworld-class price too. A Mercedes-Benz authorizedservice station is equipped to handle an exigency apart

    from regular servicing and maintenance. Hence you canbe assured of efficient, knowledgeable and professionalservice. Now they would relocate its plant to Chakanfrom Pimpri with an investment of about 50 million,which would begin operations in February-March nextyear.

    The plant would have a production capacity of 2,500trucks and buses and 10,000 cars over two shifts peryear, one shift spans eight hours.

    Mercedes-Benz India has been delighting customers

    with strong brands and a wide range of productsequipped with the latest in automotive technology. Thecompany has been the pioneer of the luxury carsegment in India with its inception way back in 1995. Its the only luxury carmaker in India to have such awide range of cars. The different ranges available todayare the S-Class, E-Class, C-Class, M-Class, CLS-Class,SLK-Class, CL-Class.

    Last September, it announced a tie-up with SMotors under which the latter would build the b

    Till now, customers pay Microsoft a licensing feethe software, then buy their own computer and their own technology staff to manage those system

    In a services business, the customer will Microsoft a larger fee, since Microsoft also runs maintains all the hardware which will have diimpact on the revenue of Microsoft.

    Microsoft will run its computers systems as efficieas possible to reduce hardware costs.

    Microsoft has already signed up large customers toonline services.

    Ex - Coca Cola Enterprises Inc signed up 70,000 sfor Exchange Online, switching over from IBMs LoDomino system.

    Mandi08This event was an idea that was shaped to perfection by Dr. T. Prasad to help every student understandmanagement theory in practice. Mandi serves as a platform for students to apply classroom learning to reallife situations and maximize pre-determined sales objectives, and in the process achieve social and educationgoals.

    Stage1:(Introduction) Understand the product description. Analysis of the market trends in Pune andplanning out strategies based on consumer behavior and their buying trends.

    Stage2:(On the Streets of Pune) Time to head to the markets where actual learning takes place. Here thstudents get to understand the dynamics involved in interactions among the product, the prospect and thesales person in the selling process.

    Stage 3:(Mandi manthan) Analysis of the previous days outing where students share their first handexperience and learn from the same.

    All the proceeds from this event would be donated to NAVNIRMITI, an NGO that has provided the toys for th

    event. Navnirmiti is a non profit, self-reliant organization working with the objective of universalizing thequality math and science education. It reaches out to all those children who dont have access to a goodeducation and has developed a simple yet complete classroom kit in order to teach primary level maths in afun and creative way. Every year Navnirmiti visits schools, organizes and holds exhibitions to promote itslearning tools and toys.

    At the last day of Mandi three teams were chosen to be best teams amongst the crowd.
