Excel at learning Express your talents Care for others Kneller Road, Twickenham TW2 7DE T:020 8892 1242 [email protected] www.chasebridge.richmond.sch.uk We are only two days into the start of the year and already it feels as though we’ve been back some time as we slip back into the familiar routines of school life. And that has never been more important for many of our children as we all come to terms with the tragic death of Oscar who was about to start in year 6. Dreadful events such as this help us to put things in perspective and remember the most im- portant things in life: family, friends and love. But, for the sake of all our children, we must think to the future as this will again be another exciting year with many wonderful opportu- nities and experiences. Some we have already planned – and some we don’t even know about yet! We are welcoming new children and families to the school in Nursery and Reception; year 1 will begin learning about Who do you think you are? year 2 are Where I live; year 3 will be feeling very grown up as they start life in the juniors; year 4 are Living a Hindu life; year 5 amongst other things will have the excitement of preparing for their Isle of Wight trip later in the year and our new year 6 will be preparing for their transition to secondary school and all the special responsibilities they have as the oldest in the school. Of course before all that we have the Rugby World Cup with our links to Japan and all the opportunities to learn about this incredible country – and I’m, probably foolishly, daring to hope that this might be England’s year!
