City Little League Junior Soft-

ball team (ages 13-14) saw

their season come to an endon July 24 with an 8-2 loss to

Sand Creek in the state quar-terfinals.

Sand Creek got things goingwith a run in the bottom ofthe first and held a 1-0 lead

until the top of the third in-ning when Boynes Hailey

Richards singled. Richardsthen stole second and came

around to score easily whenthe throwing attempt to get

her was off target.

Sand Creek went back ontop in the bottom of the fourth

with a solo run before addingfive more in the fifth with the

help of five Boyne City errors,

and another in the sixth.Boyne City tacked on their

final run in the sixth when

Maddy Smith singled, stolesecond and advanced to third

on a throwing error. Smiththen scored on a RBI ground-

out by Taylor Hubbard.Molly Korthase took the loss

for Boyne, allowing 14 hits,

walking one and fanning four.Boyne City was limited to

three hits as Richards, Smithand Ashley Kelts all singled.

Boyne was limited to six

baserunners in the contest.

the start as Saginaw Twp. ran

past them 24-9 on July 27.Ethan Habasco and Tanner

Kruzel did a majority of thepitching for Boyne with a few

others helping along the way.We had quite a few walks and

some errors that didnt help our

cause, Boyne coach Denny Er-ickson said.

Dalton Gardner led the Boyneoffense with two hits, while

Derek Willis, Habasco andColton Sieradski all finished

with one.

Willis, Gardner and Habascoall scored twice for Boyne, with

Cody Moore, Sieradski andJames Roberson crossing home

once.

runs as they routed Richmond 15-3in game two of pool play in the Lit-

tle League junior baseball state fi-

nals on July 28.Dalton Gardner picked up the

win on the mound, fanning 10 plusin his outing.

Richmond got on the board early

with three runs in the top of thefirst. But then it was all Boyne

City.

Boyne crossed the plate seventimes in the bottom of the fourth

and eight more times in the sixthfor their talley.

Gardner led the offense withthree hits, while Derek Willis, Jef-

fery Miller, Colton Sieradski, and

Juan Wilson all singled.

Scoring for Boyne was Gardner,Willis, Wilson, Tanner Kruzel,

Cody Moore and James Roberson

with two runs each, while Miller,Sieradski and Ethan Habasco all

scored once.

adjust vehicle speed to changingtraffic conditions, identify suit-

the touch and interior and exte-rior gaps are minimized, while

extra care has been taken to up-holster or cover each edge and

every surface a customer can

touch. When the trunk lid isopened, for example, a spring-

loaded cover automatically con-ceals the trunk latch hardware.

The previous Fusion was aneasy purchase for a customer to

rationalize, said Chris Hamil-

ton, chief exterior designer forthe next-generation model. Our

design goal for the new car wasto give the mainstream sedan

buyer a top-drawer visual experi-

ence, adding some emotional ap-peal to an already sensible

choice.Fusion will be produced at

Fords Hermosillo, Mexico, man-ufacturing facility, soon adding

production at AutoAlliance In-

ternational Plant in Flat Rock,Michigan. The car will appear in
