Project 2 - Package Design

Project Briefing:

To create a box for any product using at least one special process, such as die cutting, embossing, debossing or foil stamping.

The product chosen was drawing charcoal sticks and the box was created to contain 6 sticks total.

The special processes used were die cutting for the “window” in the front of the box, to let the consumer see the content, and foil stamping for the golden frame around the front of the box.

The aesthetics of the box is supposed to celebrate a special edition of a traditional charcoal brand, in the market for almost 60 years.

Paper choice:

The paper chosen was a Matte 80# Cover weight white paper.

The test print on a more texturized, specialty paper showed some loss on the image definition and also on the color accuracy, making me stick to the traditional white color.
