bAuthorityTheBoardofTrusteesshallconstitutethelegislativebodyoftheTownshallhavethepowerandauthorityexceptasotherwiseprovidedbystatutetoexerciseallpowerconferreduponorpossessedbytheTownandshallhavethepowerandauthoritytoadoptsuchlawsordinancesandresolutionsasitshalldeemproperintheexercisethereofcQualificationsEachTrusteeshallbearesidentoftheTownandaregisteredelectorwhohasresidedwithintheTownlimitsforaperiodofatleasttwelve12consecutivemonthsimmediatelyprecedingthedateoftheelectionHoweverincaseofannexationofpropertyanypersonwhohasresidedwithintheannexedterritoryforthetimeprescribedinthisSubsectionshallbedeemedtohavemettheresidencerequirementsfortheTowndRemovalfromofficeByamajorityvoteofallmembersoftheBoardofTrusteestheMayororanyTrusteemayberemovedfromofficeNosuchremovalshallbemadewithoutachargeinwritingandanopportunityofhearingbeinggivenunlesstheofficeragainstwhomthechargeismadehasmovedoutoftheTownlimitsWhenanyofficerceasestoresidewithintheTownlimitshemayberemovedfromofficepursuanttothisSubsectioneVacanciesIncaseofthedeathresignationvacationorremovalofanyoftheTrusteesduringhistermofofficetheBoardofTrusteesbyamajorityvoteofallremainingmembersthereofmayselectandappointfromamongthedulyqualifiedelectorsoftheTownasuitablepersontofillthevacancyThepersonsoappointedshallholdofficeuntilthenextregularelectionanduntilhissuccessoriselectedandqualifiedIfthetermofthepersoncreatingthevacancywastoextendbeyondthenextregularelectionthepersonelectedtofillthevacancyshallbeelectedfortheunexpiredtermWherevacanciesexistintheofficesofTrusteeandsuccessorsaretobeelectedatthenextelectiontofilltheunexpiredtermsthethree3candidatesforTrusteereceivingthehighestnumberofvotesshallbeelectedtofouryeartermsandthecandidatesreceivingthenexthighestnumberofvotesindescendingordershallbeelectedtofilltheunexpiredtermsOrd112000Ord7132003Ord112012Sec2220MayoraTheMayorshallbeelectedtoserveatermoffour4yearsTheMayorshallmeetthesamequalificationsasaTrusteeandintheeventofavacancyintheofficeofMayorsuchvacancyshallbefilledinthesamemannerasavacancyintheofficeofTrusteeassetforthinSection2210abovebTheMayorshallpresideoverallmeetingsoftheBoardofTrusteesandshallperformsuchdutiesasmayberequiredofhimbystatuteorordinanceInsofarasisrequiredbystatuteandforallceremonialpurposestheMayorshallbetheexecutiveheadoftheTowncTheMayorshallexecuteandauthenticatebyhissignatureallbondswarrantscontractsandinstrumentsofandconcerningthebusinessoftheTownastheTrusteesoranystatutesorordinancesmayrequiredExceptasmayberequiredbystatutetheMayorshallexerciseonlysuchpowersastheTrusteesshallspecificallyconferuponhimOrd11201224
