Chapter 4 Conclusion and Recommendation This chapter is about the summary of the activities during the internship, and some recommendations that are relevant to the results and experiences form the internship. Conclusion The writer’s main activity during the internship was making media promotions, booklets and leaflets in English. In making the first media promotion, booklets, the writer did some steps; translating introduction part, taking photographs of animals, facilities, kiosks and Taman Gesang, making template of the booklet, making descriptive texts about animals, and designing the booklet. During translating activity, the writer met some difficult words or sentences to translate especially on the opening speech of introduction part. However, the writer could translate those difficult sentences by looking for the meaning in online dictionary, looking for some references in the Internet, and asking to the internship supervisor. The second media that the writer made was leaflet. There was only one step needed to make the leaflet namely translating the leaflet from Indonesian into English. The writer decided to use the leaflet’s design in Indonesian which has been made by the Marketing Division of Taman Satwa Taru Jurug because to make the time more efficient. Another reason is because the writer focused on designing the booklets which needed extra time and had many steps to do. Overall, the internship activities that the writer did was succesful enough even though there were some obstacles during the process of the internship activities. The level of relevancy between the courses that the writer got in the class with the skills that the writer need for doing the internship activities is high because mostly the internship activities that the writer did used English skills especially writing and translation skills. Recommendation There are some recommendations from the writer among others are; 1. Perusahaan Daerah Taman Satwa Taru Jurug Surakarta needs to fix the wi-fi connection because some activities that the writer did needed an Internet connection to look for articles in the Internet. 2. English Diploma Program needs to give some information about the institutions that can be appropriate places to do an internship relating to

3. Before conducting an internship, English Diploma Students should enhance
their English skills, especially writing skill because the writer found that most
of English Diploma Students having problems in grammar.

Taman Satwa Taru Jurug adalah salah satu tujuan wisata di Kota Solo
untuk wisatawan lokal dan luar negeri dan kebun binatang ini adalah satu-
satunya kebun binatang edukasi bagi warga Kota Solo dan kota disekitarnya.
Anak-anak dapat melakukan aktivitas yang menarik seperti; mempelajari tentang
berbagai macam satwa dan bersatu dengan alam sehingga mereka memiliki
mood yang baik untuk belajar. Ketika Anda mengunjungi Taman Satwa Taru
Jurug, Anda dapat menikmati alam dengan berbagai macam wahana. Terdapat
beberapa wahana di Taman Satwa Taru Jurug seperti; flying fox, bersepeda
keliling kebun binatang,outbond, onta tunggang, gajah tunggang, memberi
makan hewan, dan lain-lain.
Taman Satwa Taru Jurug tidak hanya menarik untuk anak-anak tetapi
juga untuk orang dewasa terutama turis luar negeri. Para pengunjung dapat
menikmati suasana sekitar, mengetahui satwa-satwa dari seluruh penjuru
Indonesia, menjelajahi Taman Gesang & Petilasan Labuh, Sungai Bengawan
Solo, mendapatkan souvenir eksklusif dari solo dan cinderamata dari Taman
Satwa Taru Jurug yang tersedia di setiap toko souvenir di sekitar kebun
binatang.

Selamat datang di Taman Satwa Taru Jurug.
Taman Satwa Taru Jurug Surakarta adalah sebuah taman seluas 13,9 hektar dan
rumah bagi 270 satwa atau lebih yang diselimuti oleh lebih dari 5.000 tanaman
yang membuat lingkungan terasa nyaman dan segar.
Taman Satwa Taru Jurug Surakarta dibangun pada 1976 dan telah mengalami
fase yang menggugah empati dari artistik Taman Satwa Taru Jurug. Kebun
binatang in sangat eksploratif sebagai Konservasi, Pendidikan, dan Rekreasi.
Dalam perjalanan ini, Perusahaan Daerah Taman Satwa Taru Jurug Surakarta
dengan tujuan meraih tujuan pengelolaan, yang berarti membangun kembali dan
mengembangkan Taman Satwa Taru Jurug.
Area Taman Satwa Taru Jurug Surakarta akan menjadi taman rekreasi dan ruang
terbuka hijau yang mendukung fungsinya sebagai tempat perlindungan dan
konservasi tumbuhan, tempat perlindungan hewan, mendukung pendidikan dan

c. Short Profile of Taman Satwa Taru Jurug Surakarta / Profil Taman Satwa Taru
Jurug Surakarta
Taman Satwa Taru Jurug Surakarta (TSTJ) merupakan salah satu taman
rekreasi yang berada di Kota Surakarta, yang terletak dilereng pegunungan
Lawu dan pegunungan Merapi dengan ketinggian sekitar 92 m di atas
permukaan air laut. Dengan luas sekitar 44 Km², Kota Surakarta terletak
11045'15"-11045'35" Bujur Timur dan 70'36"-70'56" Lintang selatan dan
didirikan tahun 1975 yang dikelola oleh PT. Bengawan Permai.
Kebun Binatang Sriwedari yang lebih dikenal dengan sebutan “Kebun
Rojo“; didirikan Sri Susuhunan Paku Buwono X pada tanggal 20 Dal 1381 atau
tanggal 17 Juli 1901 dan merupakan Kebun Binatang tertua, Pada tahun 1983
dipindahkan ke Taman Satwa Taru Jurug Surakarta (TSTJ) dan dikelola oleh PT
Bengawan Permai. Perusahaan tersebut telah mengelola Taman Jurug selama
beberapa tahun, tetapi kemudian perusahaan tersebut bangkrut pada 1986 dan
kemudian taman tersebut diserah terimakan kepada Pemerintah Kota Surakarta.
Kemudian, Pemerintah Kota Surakarta meminta Dinas Pariwisata untuk
mengelola Taman Jurug dan taman tersebut dilegalkan perijinannya pada 1986.
Dinas Pariwisata memutuskan untuk membentuk “Yayasan Bina Satwa Taru
Jurug” yang diganti namanya menjadi Taman Satwa Taru Jurug setelah
beberapa periode. TSTJ telah mengalami banyak perpindahan pengelolaan
hingga akhirnya secara resmi dikelola oleh Pemerintah Kota Surakarta dan
namanya berubah menjadi Perusahaan Daerah Taman Satwa Taru Jurug
Surakarta pada 2011 hingga sekarang. Lokasi terbaru dari Taman Satwa Taru
Jurug Surakarta adalah di Jalan Ir. Sutami 109 Surakarta dan memiliki luas
sekitar 44 kilometer persegi.
