C. The plural form for both the indefinite and the partitive articles is des. Des expresses an unspecified amount or quantity, more than one item, and has no direct English equivalent.

c. The indefinite article is omitted before the numbers cent and mille.

Bien des gens arrivent. Many people are arriving.
3. Plusieurs (several) and quelques (some) are adjectives and modify the noun directly.
J’ai plusieurs amis. I have several friends.
