A management information system (MIS) is a system that provides
information needed to manage organizations effectively.
Management information systems involve three primary resources:
technology
Information
people.
MIS :
A general name for the business function and academic discipline covering the application of people, technologies, and procedures to solve business problems.
MIS is a business function, similar to Accounting, Finance, Operations, and Human Resources
DATA raw facts that describe the characteristic of an event
INFORMATION data converted into a meaningful and useful context
BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE

7.Business intelligence (BI) mainly refers to computer-based techniques used in identifying, extracting, and analyzing business data, such as sales revenue by products and/or departments, or by associated costs and incomes

Common functions of business intelligence technologies are reporting, online analytical processing, analytics, data mining, process mining, business performance management, benchmarking, text mining and predictive analytics.
4. Business intelligence aims to support better business decision-making. Thus a BI system can be called a decision support system (DSS)
