Hardware RequirementsOracle Change Managem ent Pack has the following hard ware

requirements:Disk Space

s 94 MB is required to install Oracle Change Management

Pack and the Oracle Enterpr ise Manager Client.

s 136 MB is required to install Oracle Change Managem ent

Pack, the Oracle Enterprise Manager Client, and the Oracle

Managemen t Server. An add itional 50-100 MB is recom-

mended if the repository is running locally.

Processor

s A Pentium 166 is required to ru n the Oracle Enterprise Man-

ager Console and all management applications, but a 200 is

recommended.

s A Pentium 200 is required if the Oracle Management Server

is run ning locally.

Suggested RAM

128 MB is required for all Oracle Enterprise Man ager

components, the Oracle Change Management Pack, and the

repository running locally.

s 64 MB is required for runn ing the Oracle Management

Server on ly.

s 64 MB is recommend ed for ru nning only th e console and

managem ent applications.

Installing Oracle Change Management Pack


Installing Oracle Change Management PackTo install Oracle Change Management Pack, do the following:

1. Start Window s NT, Window s 95, or Window s 98.

2. Log on to your PC as a memb er of the Administrators group.

3. Insert the Oracle Change Management PackCD-ROM into

the CD-ROM drive.

4. The Oracle Enterprise Manager Change Managem ent Pack

Autorun w indow ap pears with the following options:

s Begin Installation

s Explore CD

s Quick Tour

ClickBegin Installation.

5. The Oracle Universal Installer Welcome window appears.

Click the Next button to continue.

6. The File Locations window appears.

Do not change the information in the Path field in the

Sourcesection.

The Path field contains the full path of the prod-ucts.jar file from wh ich the Oracle Change Manage-

ment Pack comp onents will be installed.

7. In the Name field in the Destination section, type the nam e of

the Oracle home where you wou ld like Oracle Change

Management P ack to be installed, or select it from the drop-

down list, for examp le:

If you currently d o not have a home created, one will be

created for you du ring installation, giving the hom e

whatever n ame you enter here. This home will be located in

whatever d rive you select in the next step.

Please read the following guidelines regarding Or acle

homes:

s Make sure you install Oracle Change Management Pa ckin the same hom e as Oracle Enterprise Manager and the

Oracle Enterprise Mana ger Migration Assistant, but in a

different home than th e Oracle database.

On your machine, the Oracle Enterprise Manager Migra-

tion Assistant is only installed on ce - in the home where

Oracle Enterprise Manager is first installed - regardless

of how m any hom es contain installs of Oracle Enterprise

Manager (assuming you do not de-select it from a Cu s-

tom install).

s If you are installing Oracle Enterprise Manager, do not

install it in the sam e home as another version of Oracle

Enterprise Manager.

s If you are installing the Agent Extensions (which enablethe paging fun ctionality and the m anagement of Oracle

Applications) install them in the sam e Oracle home as

the Intelligent Agent.

8. In the Path field in the Destination section, type the p roper

path to th e Oracle home, or select it from the d rop-down list,

for example:

If the path th at you type d oes not currently exist, it will be

created for you d uring installation.

Do not leave any fields in the File Locations window

empty.

IMPORTANT: Make sure that the Oracle home

name:

s is 1 to 16 characters long

s includes on ly alphanum eric characters

and underscores

s does not contain any spa ces

Select one of the following product options to install:

s Oracle Change Management Pack, Oracle Enterprise

Manager Client (if this version is not already on yourmachine), and dependent sub-components

s Oracle Change Managem ent Pack, Oracle Management

Server, the Oracle Enterprise Mana ger Client, and d epen-

dent su b-comp onents (This option is for Windows NT

only.)

s Agent Extensions (which enable the paging functionality

and the m anagement of Oracle Applications) and dep en-

dent su b-comp onents (This option is for Windows NT

only.)

Make you r selection and clickNext to continue.

If you selected Agen t Extensions, go to step 11.

Also, refer to the section Configuring and Starting thePaging Service for NT in Chapter 6 of the Oracle Enter-

prise Manager Configuration Guide.

Otherwise, continue to step 10.

10. The Installation Types window app ears.

Select either a Typical install or a Custom install.

s A Typical install installs the product(s) you selected an d

its default comp onents.s A Custom install allows you to select the specific comp o-

nents you w ish to install as part of the p rodu ct(s) you

selected.

ClickNext to continue.

If you selected aTypical install, go to step 12.

If you selected a Custom install, continue to step 11.

11. The Available Product Components window appears.

This window lists components that w ill be installed with th e

produ ct(s) you are installing.

Uncheck only those items you w ish to deinstall or do notwish to install. If you uncheck an item that is already

installed, it will be deinsta lled. For example, if the Oracle

Enterp rise Manager Client is already insta lled, de-selecting it

here w ill cause it to d einstall.

If you are installing the Agent Extensions, only two

components w ill be listed:

Paging Service Agent Extensions

and

Applications Management Agent Extensions.

When you are satisfied with the components that will be

installed, clickNext to continue.

If you are installing the Agen t Extensions, go to step 15.

Otherwise, continue to step 12.

12. If certain Oracle Enterprise Manager/ Change Management

Pack comp onents have not p reviously been installed on your

machine, the Component Locations window appears.

If this window does not app ear, skip this step and go to step

13.

If the Component Locations window does app ear, you can

use it to see where each component is to be installed, select

alternate locations for some of the components, and check

for available disk drive space.

s To show a list of all the comp onents t o be installed, check

the Show all Components to be Installed box.

s To see if a comp onents location can be changed , and t o

see where a component is to be installed, click on a com-

ponent in the list. If the components location can be

changed, a white box appears below wh ere you can type

the new location. You can a lso browse for new locations

using the Change Location button.

s To check for available space on your different d isk

drives, select the arrow in the Available Disk Space field.

If you are satisfied with the location of all the components,

clickNext to continue.

13. If this is a Typical install, go t o step 15.

If this is a Cu stom install and you ar e not installing the

Oracle Management Server, go to step 15.

If this is a Custom install and you are installing the Oracle

Management Server, continue to step 14.

14. The Server Repository window appears.

Select one of the following options:

s The Management Server will use an existing repository.

s The Management Server will require a new repository.

A repository is a set of tables in an Oracle database and can

be located in any Oracle database w ith a connection to the

Oracle Management Server.

Make you r selection and clickNext to continue.

If you are installing Oracle Applications Manager, the

Important Configuration Information window appears.

Before continuing, follow the directions in this window

regarding m anually registering Oracle Applications

Manager w ith the Oracle Management Server.

the Oracle Enterprise Manager Configuration Guide.

When the Oracle Configuration Assistant has been

successfully run, clickNext to continue.

18. The End of Installation window appears.

If you w ould like to read th e Oracle Change Management Pack

Readme at th is time, clickRelease Info.

To exit the Oracle Universal Installer, clickExit.

If you are ru nning Windows 95 or Windows 98, restart your

machine before running th e produ cts you installed.

Rebooting resets the path for th e JRE.

In order for Oracle Change Management Pack, Oracle

Enterprise Manager, and all components to run successfully,

they must be correctly configured. Please see the Oracle

Enterprise Manager Configuration Guide for instructions on

starting and configuring Oracle Change Management P ack

and Oracle Enterprise Manager.

IMPORTANT: If you are m igrating a previous ver-sion of the Oracle Change Management P ack reposi-

tory to this version, please see the Oracle Enterprise

Manager Configuration Guide for instructions on how

to use th e Migration Assistant for th is task.

The Change Management repository migration must be

performed BEFORE you create any change plans or

baselines in the Oracle Management Server.

Removing Oracle Change Management Pack


Removing Oracle Change Management PackTo remove this an d other Oracle produ cts, do the following:

1. Stop all Oracle services.

2. Start the Oracle Universal Installer from:

the Start menu

or

the CD-ROM by selecting Explore CD from the Autorun

window and th en selecting the Setup icon.

3. Click the Deinstall Products button in the Welcome window.

4. The Inventorywindow appears. Select the prod uct(s) you

want to r emove and click the Remove button.

5. Another wind ow app ears, asking if you wan t to remove the

products and their dependent component(s).

Click the Yes button.

6. The Oracle Universal Installer warn s you of any p rodu ct

depend encies that might cause p roblems if particular
