Some People Do

• We read about people who overcome incredible odds and obstacles to make changes in their lives every day (drug addiction, recovery from injury, up and out of poverty)

• They are like me –

they are the 1 out of 10 who can change

So what’s different about us/them?

They are willing to believe that it is possible

Page 6: Change by Joyce Raby. I know everything there is to know about change.

They are willing to live with ambiguity

Page 7: Change by Joyce Raby. I know everything there is to know about change.

They are willing to not have all the answers

Page 8: Change by Joyce Raby. I know everything there is to know about change.

They do not care what other people think (they do not substitute anyone else’s

judgment for their own)

Page 9: Change by Joyce Raby. I know everything there is to know about change.

They are willing to believe that the forces of the Universe are on their side.

(which is a fancy new agey way to say they do not believe that misery is an acceptable

way of life)
