I know a lot of us have been working and playing at home for a while now, but I have great news! The Chandler Chamber Charity Golf Tournament is right around the corner, Friday, September 25th at the beautiful Ocotillo Golf Club.
We are working to ensure a safe and enjoyable day on the links for you because a fun day out in the fresh air, raising money for a great charity cause, is just what we need! It is important to remember that a portion of the proceeds from the tournament goes towards scholarships for deserving students attending Chandler Gilbert Community College. The Chandler Chamber of Commerce donates over $6,000 in scholarships annually, due in-part to your participation in the Chamber Charity Golf Tournament.
This year we are changing it up a bit and offering a two-person scramble tournament. Our golf committee insists that the two-person format is perfect for enjoying a great course like Ocotillo, but not having the stress of stroke play (if you know what that means). There will be some great food, all safely prepared and served. And don’t forget the raffle and contest prizes!
So reward yourself and a friend (hopefully someone who can drive 400 yards and possesses excellent hand-eye coordination) and register for the golf tournament on September 25th. Can’t wait to see you there!
Every day I hear wonderful stories of our Chandler businesses and community members
really stepping up in these difficult times to support and move us forward. This year
our Chandler Chamber Community Awards will be going virtual to honor Chandler’s exceptional
businesses, educators, public servants and community members.
Please join us virtually, September 16th at 4 pm, on Facebook to honor the exceptional people and
businesses that make Chandler great. While we can’t gather together in person, we promise a fun
experience online that will celebrate our winners with sincere gratitude, a little bit of humor and big
surprises.
So clear your calendar Wednesday, September 16th at 4 pm and join us on Facebook for an interactive
experience celebrating Chandler. You won’t want to miss this!
Visit the Chandler Chamber Website Business Resource Page
The Chandler Chamber is in constant communication with local, state and federal officials
and legislators for up-to-date information. We have created a dedicated webpage with
resources to help navigate these difficult times.

Chandler Mayor Kevin Hartke City of Chandler @ChandlerAZMayor
Chandler Chamber Living Magazine 8
The City of Chandler recognizes that the ability to maintain private sector employment levels preserves the
economic strength of the community and its citizens. In an effort to mitigate job losses and the resulting
economic hardship brought on by the effects of COVID-19, Chandler City Council approved programs
related to the State of Arizona grant agreement for the AZCares Fund Program. One of the approved
programs enables the Economic Development Department to utilize $10 million for business assistance
support for Chandler-based businesses impacted by COVID-19. With the addition of the AZCares
programs, the City now has three distinct business assistance programs that I hope will provide much
needed support and relief to our business community. Below is a breakdown of these programs:

Cox to purchase SRP clean energy to advance aggressive national sustainability goals Cox Communication has signed up to convert over 30 percent of their energy purchased from SRP to the company’s Sustainable Energy Offering. SRP’s program provides clean, emission-free solar energy to more than 30 commercial, municipal and school district customers in Arizona. This program makes approximately 300 megawatts (MW) of solar energy available to these customers for their power needs. SRP estimates that with the use of these solar energy resources, Arizona businesses will decrease carbon dioxide emissions by about 1.6 million tons equivalent to the amount produced by more than 300,000 passenger cars driven in a year.

"Leads groups are a fantastic way to meet new people from other industries in your community. Going to leads group, even online, is always the highpoint of my week because I know these folks are experiencing the same things I am and it helps give me strength and encouragement."
