IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

FOR ALL CHAIN SAWS:1) Keep Work Area Clean.Cluttered areas invite injuries.Do not start cutting until you have a clear work area, secure footing, and a planned retreat path from the falling tree.2) Consider Work Area Environment.Use extreme caution when cutting small size brush and saplings because the slender material may catch the saw chainand be whipped toward you or pull you off balance.Do not operate a chain saw in a tree unless specifically trained to do so.When cutting a limb that is under tension be alert for spring back so that you will not be struck when the tension in thewood fibers is released.Dont expose chain saw to rain.Dont use chain saw in damp or wet locations.Do not use chain saw in presence of flammable liquids or gases.3) Guard Against Electric ShockPrevent body contact with grounded surfaces. For example: metal pipes, wire fences.4) Keep Children AwayDo not let visitors contact chain saw or extension cord.

14) Check Damaged PartsBefore further use of the chain saw, a guard or other part that is damaged should be carefully checked to determine thatit will operate properly and perform its intended function. Check for alignment of moving parts, binding of moving parts,breakage of parts, mounting, and any other conditions that may affect its operation. A guard or other part that is damagedshould be properly repaired or replaced by an authorized service center unless otherwise indicated elsewhere in thisinstruction manual.Have defective switches replaced by authorized service center.Do not use chain saw if switch does not turn it on and off.Do not operate a chain saw that is damaged, improperly adjusted, or is not completely and securely assembled. Be surethat the saw chain stops moving when the trigger is released.15) Guard Against KickbackWARNING: KICKBACK may occur when the nose or tip of the guide bar touches an object, or when the wood closes inand pinches the saw chain in the cut. Tip contact in some cases may cause a lightning fast reverse reaction, kicking theguide bar up and back towards the operator. Pinching the saw chain along the top of the guide bar may push the guidebar rapidly back towards the operator. Either of these reactions may cause you to lose control of the saw which couldresult in serious injury to user.

The following precautions should be followed to minimize kickback:(1) Grip Saw FirmlyHold the chain saw firmly with both hands when the motor is running. Use a firm grip with thumbs and fingers encirclingthe chain saw handles. Note: If a manual oiler control is provided, additional or modified instructions regarding its use isto be provided.(2) Do not over reach.(3) Keep proper footing and balance at all times.(4) Dont let the nose of the guide bar contact a log, branch, ground or other obstruction.(5) Dont cut above shoulder height.(6) Use devices such as low kickback chain, guide bar nose guards, chain brakes and special guide bars that reduce therisks associated with kickback.(7) Only use replacement bars and chains specified by the manufacturer or the equivalent.

FOR ALL HEDGE TRIMMERS1) Avoid Dangerous Environment - Dont use hedge trimmers in damp or wet locations.2) Dont Use In Rain.3) Keep Children Away - All visitors should be kept at a distance from work area.4) Dress Properly - Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. They can be caught in moving parts. Use of rubber gloves andsubstantial footwear is recommended when working outdoors. Wear protective hair covering to contain long hair.5) Use Safety Glasses - Always use face or dust mask if operation is dusty6) Use Right Appliance - Do not use appliance for any job except that for which it is intended.7) Avoid Unintentional Starting - Dont carry hedge trimmer with finger on switch. Be sure switch is off whenplugging in.8) Danger - Risk of Cut - Keep Hands Away From Blades - Keep both hands on handles when power is on.

Exception: This statement is not required for a shrub clipper.Do not attempt to remove cut material nor hold material to be cut when blades are moving. Make sure trimmer switch isoff when clearing jammed material from blades. Do not grasp the exposed cutting blades or cutting edges when pickingup or holding the hedge trimmer. Caution - blades coast after turn off.Exception: The statement CAUTION - Blades coast after turn off may be omitted for a hedge trimmer with a bladestopping time less than 1/2 second.9) Dont Force Hedge Trimmer - It will do the job better and with less likelihood of a risk of injury at the rate for which it was designed.10) Dont Overreach - Keep proper footing and balance at all times.11) Stay Alert - Watch what you are doing. Use common sense. Do not operate hedge trimmer when you are tired.

12) Store Idle Hedge Trimmer Indoors - When not in use, hedge trimmer should be stored indoors in dry, and high orlocked-up place - out of reach of children.13) Maintain Hedge Trimmer With Care - Keep cutting edge sharp and clean for best performance and to reduce the riskof injury. Follow instructions for lubricating and changing accessories. Inspect hedge trimmer cord periodically, and ifdamaged, have it repaired by an authorized service facility. GENERAL SAFETY RULES

Caution: When using electrical devices, basic precautionsshould always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury.

Read and understand the manual before using this tool. Save these instructions and other documents provided with this tool for future reference. The battery charger has been designed only for 120 V. Always check that the power supply matches the voltage on the

label. If the power cord of the charger is ever damaged, it must be repaired and/or replaced by a qualified electrician at an

authorized repair facility. Do not expose power tool to rain or wet condition. Caution: Use only Chameleon branded charger and 18v Lithium-Ion battery.

Read the entire manual carefully and familiarize yourself with the operations of this tool. Save these instructions and other documents provided with this tool for future reference. Caution: Read all warnings and instructions. Non-compliance of warnings and instructions could result in electric shock,

fire and/or serious injury. The term "power tool" in all the warnings refers to your battery operated power tool. PERSONAL SAFETY Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. Dress properly. Do not wear loose fitting clothing or jewelry.

POWER TOOL USE AND CARE Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. Do not use the power tool if the on/off switch is not working correctly. Store idle power tools out of the reach of children. Do not allow persons unfamiliar with this power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Maintain power tool. If damaged have this power tool repaired before use. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.

BATTERY TOOL USE AND CARE Recharge only with the charger (LG09902-11) specified by the manufacturer. Use power tools with only specifically designated battery packs (LG09901-11). When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects like paper clips, keys, screws, coins, nails and

screws or other small metal objects that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery, avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush

with water. If liquid contacts eyes, seek medical attention immediately.

SERVICE Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. Tool service must be performed by an authorized service dealer and/or qualified repair personnel.

CORDLESS TOOL SAFETY Hold power tools by insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation where the cutting tools may contact

electrical wiring. Always hold the tool with both hands. Always wear safety goggles or eye protection when using this tool. Disconnect battery power supply from tool before changing accessories. Do not grasp the tool or place your hands or other body parts on the moving parts of the tool. Do not use dull or damaged blades.

BATTERY/CHARGER SAFETY Before using battery charger, read all instructions and cautionary markings on (A) battery charger, (B) 18V Lithium-Ion

battery pack, and (C) product using the battery. Use only the charger (LG09902-11) which accompanied your product or a direct replacement listed in the catalog or this

manual. Do not disassemble charger or operate the charger (LG09902-11) if it has received a sharp blow, been dropped or

otherwise damaged in any other way. Replace damaged cords or plugs immediately. Do not recharge battery in damp or wet environment. Do not expose charger to rain or snow.

If battery case is cracked or otherwise damaged do not insert into charger. Charge only Chameleon approved rechargeable battery (LG09901-11). Charge battery pack in temperatures above +32F (0C) and below +113F (45C). Store tool and battery pack in locations where temperatures will not exceed 120F (49C). Battery leakage may occur under extreme usage or temperature conditions. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Place charger on flat non-flammable surfaces and away from flammable materials when re-charging battery pack. Use of attachment(s) not recommended or sold by Chameleon may result in a risk of fire, electrical shock, or injuries to

person. Never store the tool with the battery in a fully discharged state. Charge immediately after they are fully discharged.

BATTERY CARE/DISPOSAL This tool was shipped in a low state of charge and must be fully charged before use. When batteries are not in the tool or charger, keep them away from metal objects. For example, to protect terminals

from shorting, do not place batteries in a tool box with nails and/or screws. Fire or injury may result. Do not put batteries into fire or expose to high heat. Do not attempt to disassemble or remove any components. Dispose of batteries in accordance with local recycling laws and guidelines.

OPERATION To run tool, push the safety switch (3) while simultaneously squeezing the power trigger (4). Once the power trigger (4) is engaged, you can release the safety switch button (3). The safety switch button (3) can reduce the risk of accidental starting. To stop the hedge trimmer, release the power trigger (4). Caution: The blade (7) coasts momentarily after releasing the power trigger (4). Do not force the blade (7) through heavy shrubbery or dense growth. The blade (7) may become inoperable. If the

blade (7) gets stuck, release the power trigger (4) immediately. Do not use your fingers to release a jammed blade (7) as it may cause serious injury. Do not touch the blade (7) during operation and beware of sharp edges, even if the tool is not used.

CHAINSAW SAFETY PRECAUTIONS To reduce risk of injury, be sure everyone using this tool has read and understands all safety instructions contained in

this manual. Wear appropriate hearing protection. Do not use chainsaw in rain, wet or damp conditions. Chainsaw can spark. Do not operate near gaseous or explosive atmospheres. Use safety glasses. If chain (11) jams on any electrical cord, do not touch chain or bar because they can become electrically live and very

dangerous. Check for damaged or loose parts prior to use. Use only in well-lit areas. Disconnect chainsaw from battery (1) prior to cleaning or adjustments. Keep children and pets a safe distance from the work area. Never use blade guard (15) as a handle and never carry by the blade guard (15). To avoid unintentional starting, do not carry chainsaw with finger on the power trigger (4). Keep hands and fingers away from spinning chain (11). Do not attempt to remove cut material or hold material to be cut while the chain (11) is moving. Make sure power trigger

(4) is off when clearing jammed material from the chain (11). Do not grasp exposed cutting chain (11) at any time.

TRIMMING INSTRUCTIONS Maintain a proper working position with solid footing and balance. Always hold the hedge trimmer with one hand on the rear handle (5) and one hand on the front handle (8). Level hedges by sweeping the tool side to side across desired area of the hedge. For precisely leveled hedges, utilize a string guide along the hedges. For top trimming use a wide sweeping motion with a slight downward tilt will provide the best results. For side trimming begin at the bottom and sweep upward for best results.

Ensure that the blade does not touch material that may damage the blades (7). Dispose of clippings in a matter consistent with local laws and guidelines.

MAINTENANCE Keep the ventilation slots of the tool clean at all times. When the housing of the hedge trimmer needs to be cleaned, do not use

solvents but a soft, damp cloth. Never allowany liquid get inside the tool. Do not immerse any part of the tool in aliquid.

Cleaning the Blade: The blade must be cleaned and treated with a light oilor spray lubricant (such as WD40 or 3in1,etc.) after each use.

risk of injury at the rate for which it is designed. Maintain saw with care. Keep saw clean, dry, and free from

grease and debris. *CAUTION* Some dust created by operating this chainsaw may

contain chemicals known, to the State of California, to causecancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. Some of theseexamples are: compounds in fertilizers, insecticides, herbicides,pesticides, and arsenic. To reduce your exposure to thesechemicals, wear proper protective equipment such as dustmasks.

CALIFORNIA PROPOSITION 65: *WARNING* Use of this toolmay cause exposure to chemicals that are known, to the State ofCalifornia, to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductiveharm. Dust and debris created during the cutting, drilling,grinding, or sanding on some materials may contain chemicalsknown, to the State of California, to cause cancer birth defects orother reproductive harm. To reduce exposure to thesechemicals, always use approved safety equipment, work in awell-ventilated area and wear dust mask that filters outmicroscopic particles.

REPLACING THE GUIDE BAR AND CHAIN

*DANGER* Never start the motor before installing the guide bar (12), chain (11) and blade guard (15). Without allthese parts in place, the clutch can fly off or explode, exposing the user to potential serious injuries.

*WARNING* To avoid serious personal injury, read and understand the manual provided. *WARNING* Remove battery pack from saw before performing any maintenance. Failure to heed this warning could

result in serious personal injury. *CAUTION* Always wear gloves when handling the bar (12) and chain (11). The chain (11) is sharp. *WARNING* Never touch or adjust the chain (11) while the motor is running. The saw chain (11) is sharp. Always

wear gloves when making adjustments to the chain to avoid severe cuts or lacerations. NOTE* When replacing the guide bar (12) and chain (11), use only identical or Chameleon approved replacement parts. Remove the battery (1) from the saw. Remove the Guide Bar Screw (20) by turning counter-clockwise. Remove the Chain Cover (19). Remove the bar (12) and chain (11) from the mounting surface plate (21). Remove the old chain from the bar (12). Lay out the new saw chain in a loop and straighten any kinks. The cutting teeth should face in the direction of the chain

rotation. If they face backwards, turn the loop over. Place the chain drive links into the bar groove. *NOTE* Make certain the direction of the chain. Hold the chain (11) on the bar (12) and place the loop around the sprocket (22). Fit the bar (12) flush against the mounting surface plate (21) so that the bar stabilizers (23) and the tension pin (24) are

properly seated in the bar(12). *NOTE* When placing the bar (12) on the bar stabilizers (23), ensure that the tension pin(24) is in the tension pin hole.

Tighten the chain tension screw (25) clockwise as needed. Replace the chain cover (19). Tighten the guide bar screw (20) but leave the bar (12) free to allow for tension adjustment by using the chain tension

screw (25). Remove all slack in the chain (11) by turning the chain tension screw (25) until the chain seats snugly against the bar

(12). Tighten the guide bar screw (20) clockwise.

*NOTE* The chain is correctly tensioned when there is no sag on the underside of the guide bar (12), the chain (11) is snug, but it can be turned by hand without binding.*NOTE* If the chain (11) is too tight, it will not rotate. Loosen the chain tension screw (25) turn counter-clockwise. Ensure the chain will rotate without binding.*NOTE* A new chain tends to stretch. Check chain tension frequently and adjust tension as required.

OPERATIONS To run the chainsaw, push the safety switch button (3) in with your thumb while simultaneously squeezing the power

trigger (4). (Once the tool is running, you can release the safety switch button (3)). To stop the chainsaw, release the power trigger (4). *WARNING* To guard against injury, observe the following:

Read instruction manual before using. Save the instruction manual. Keep hands away from chain (11)

Keep hands on handles (5&14) Dont overreach. A good, firm grip on the saw, with both hands will help you maintain control. Dont let go.

Grip the rear handle (5) with your right hand (whether you are right or left handed). Wrap the fingers of your left handle around the front handle (14), and your left thumb under the front handle (14) bar. Make sure you follow the instructions in maintenance for putting oil in the chainsaw. *CAUTION* Failure to lubricate the chain (11) will cause damage to the bar (12) and chain (11). Use only a good quality bar and chain oil or, if not available, use unused SAE-30 motor oil as a substitute. One minute of use will consume approximately 0.1 fluid ounces (3 ml) of oil. *NOTE* It is normal for oil to seep from the saw when not in use. To prevent seepage, empty the oil tank after each use. When storing the unit for a long period of time (3 months or

longer), be sure the chain is lightly lubricated. This will prevent rust on the chain (11) and bar sprocket (22).

CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS

Do not operate the chainsaw in a tree, or on a ladder, or on a scaffold. This is extremely dangerous. *CAUTION* Chain (11) coasts after shutting off. Do not use under wet conditions. Use extreme caution when cutting small size brush, saplings, or limbs under tension, because slender and tense

material may catch the saw and be whipped towards you, pull you off balance or spring back. Do not cut vines and/or small underbrush. *WARNING* Do not allow familiarity with this type of

tool to make you careless. Remember that a careless fraction of asecond is sufficient to inflict serious injury.

Before you start the unit, make sure the chainsaw is not contactingany object.

*WARNING* Kickback may occur when the moving chain (11) contactsan object at the upper portion of the tip of the guide bar (12) or when the woodcloses in and pinches the chainsaw in the cut. Contact at the upper portion of

the tip of the guide bar (12) can cause the chain (11) to dig in to the objectand stop the chain (11) for an instant. The result is a lightning fast, reverse reaction which kicks the guide bar (12) upand back towards the operator. If the chainsaw is pinched along the top of the guide bar (12), the guide bar (12) can bedriven rapidly towards the operator. Either of these reactions can cause loss of saw control which can result in seriousinjury. Do not rely exclusively upon the safety devices built into the saw. As a chainsaw user, you should takeseveral steps to keep your cutting jobs free from accident or injury.

The following precautions should be followed to minimize kickback: Always grip the saw firmly with both hands. Hold the saw firmly with both hands when the unit is running. Place your

right hand on the rear handle (5) and your left hand on the front handle (14) with your thumbs and fingers encircling thechainsaw handles (5&14). A firm grip together with a stiff left arm will help you maintain control of the saw if kickbackoccurs.

Make sure that the area in which you are cutting is free from obstructions. Do not let the nose of the guide bar (12)contact a log, branch, fence or any other obstruction that could be hit while you are operating the saw.

Always cut with the unit running at full speed. Fully squeeze the power trigger (4) and maintain a steady cutting speed. Push & Pull - This reaction force is always opposite to the direction that the chain (11) is moving where wood contact is

made. Thus, the operator must be ready to control PULL when cutting on the bottom edge of the bar (12), and PUSHwhen cutting along the top edge of the bar (12). Wear non-slip gloves for maximum grip and protection.

PROPER CUTTING STANCE: Weight should be balanced with both feet on solid ground.

Keep left arm with elbow locked in a straight-arm position to withstand any kickback force. Your body should always be to the left of the chain line.

BASIC CUTTING PROCEDURE: Small trees, up to 2- 3 in diameter are usually cut in a single cut. Large trees require notch cuts. Notch cuts

determine the direction a tree will fall. *WARNING* If the tree starts to fall in the wrong direction, or if the saw gets caught or hung up during the fall, leave the

saw and save yourself. *WARNING* Periodically glance at the top of the tree during the back cut to assure the tree is going to fall in the desired

direction.Practice cutting a few small logs using the following technique to get the feel of using the saw before you begin a major

sawing operation. Take the proper stance in front of the wood with the saw off.

Squeeze the power trigger (4) and let the chain (11) accelerate to full speed before entering the cut. Hold the saw firmly with both hands . Always keep your left hand on the front handle (14) and your right hand on the

rear handle (5) so your body is to the left of the chain line. Keep the unit running the entire time you are cutting, maintain a steady speed. Allow the chain (11) to cut for you; exert only slight downward pressure. If you force the cut, damage to the bar (12),

chain (11), or unit can result. Do not put pressure on the saw at the end of the cut.

When felling a tree, keep everyone a safe distance from the cutting area. During felling operations, the safe distance should be at least twice the height of the largest trees in the felling area. If

the tree makes contact with any utility line, the utility company should be notified immediately. Always cut with both feet on solid ground to prevent from being pulled off-balance. *WARNING* Check the tree for damaged or dead branches that could fall and hit you during felling.

*WARNING* Do not cut trees near electrical wires.

FELLING A TREE: When bucking and felling operations are being performed by two or more persons, at the same time, the felling

operation should be separated from the bucking operation by a distance of at least twice the height of the tree beingfelled. Trees should not be felled in a manner that would endanger any person, strike any utility line or cause anyproperty damage. If the tree makes contact with any utility line, the utility company should be notified immediately.

Before any cuts are started, pick your escape route(s). Clear the immediate area around the tree and make sure thereare no obstructions in your planned path of retreat. A clear path of safe retreat is approximately 135 from the plannedline of fall. The retreat path should extend back and diagonally to the rear of the line of fall.

Before felling is started, consider the force and the direction of the wind, the lean and balance of the tree, and thelocation of large limbs. These things influence the direction in which the tree will fall. Do not try to fell a tree along a linedifferent from its natural line of fall.

The chainsaw operator should keep on the uphill side of the terrain as the tree is likely to roll or slide downhill after it is

felled. Remove dirt, stones, loose bark, nails, staples and wire from the tree where felling tree cuts are to be made.

NOTHCHED UNDERCUT: Cut a notch about 1/3 of the diameter of the tree, perpendicular to the direction of the fall. Make the cuts of the notch so

they intersect, at a right angle, to the line of the fall. This notch should be cleaned out to make a straight line. To keepthe weight of the wood off the saw, always make the lower cut of the notch before the upper.

*WARNING* Do not fell trees during periods of high winds or heavy precipitation. Wait to do your cutting until thehazard has ended.

*WARNING* Do not cut down trees having an extreme lean or large trees that have rotten limbs, loose bark or hollowtrunks. Have these trees pushed or dragged down with heavy equipment, then cut them up.

FELLING BACK-CUT: The back-cut is always made level and horizontal, and at a minimum of 2 (5cm) above the horizontal cut of the notch. Never cut through to the notch. Always leave a band of wood between the notch and the back-cut (approx. 2 (5cm) or

1/10 the diameter of the tree). This is called hinge or hinge wood. It controls the fall of the tree and prevents slippingor twisting or shoot-back of the tree off the stump.

On large diameter trees, stop the back-cut before it is deep enough for the tree to either fall or settle back on the stump.Then insert soft wooden or plastic wedges into the cut so they do not touch the chain (11). The wedges can be drivenin, little by little, to help jack the tree over.

As the tree starts to fall, stop the chainsaw and put it down immediately.Retreat along the clear path, but watch the action in case something fallsyour way. Be alert for overhead limbs or branches that may fall and watchyour footing.

*WARNING* Never cut through to the notch when making a back-cut.The hinge controls the fall of the tree, this is a section of wood between thenotch and the back-cut.

BUCKING: Bucking is the term used for cutting a fallen tree to the desired

log length. Always make sure your footing is secure and your weight is

distributed evenly on both feet. Cut only one log at a time. Support small logs on a saw horse

or another log while bucking.

Keep a clear cutting area. Make sure that no objects can contactthe guide bar (12) nose and chain (11)during cutting, this can cause kickback. When bucking on a slope, always stand on the uphill side of the log. To maintain complete control of the chainsaw

when cutting through the log, release the cutting pressure near the end of the cut without relaxing your grip on thechainsaw handles (5&14). Do not let the chain (11) contact the ground. After completing the cut, wait for the chainsawto stop before you move the chainsaw. Always stop the motor before moving from tree to tree.

BUCKING LOGS UNDER STRESS: When the log is supported along its entire length, it should be cut from the top or over-bucking. When the log is supported on one end, cut 1/3 diameter from the under-side or under-bucking. Then make the finishing

cut by over-bucking to meet the first cut. As the log is being cut, it will tend to bend. The saw can become pinched or hung in the log if you make the first cut

deeper than 1/3 of the diameter of the log.

Give special attention to logs under stress to prevent the bar (12) and chain (11) from pinching. When bucking on a slope, always stand on the uphill side of the log. When cutting through, to maintain complete

control of the chainsaw, release the cutting pressure near the end of the cut without relaxing your grip on the chainsawhandles (5&14). Do not let the chain (11) contact the ground. After completing the cut, wait for the chainsaw to stopbefore you move the chainsaw. Always stop the motor before moving from tree to tree.

OVER-BUCKING: Begin on the top side of the log with thebottom of the saw against the log; exert light pressure downward. Note that the saw will tend to pull away from you.

UNDER-BUCKING: Begin on the under-side of the log withthe top of the saw against the log; exert light pressure upward.During under-bucking, the saw will tend to push back at you.Be prepared for this reaction and hold the saw firmly tomaintaincontrol.

LIMBING: Limbing is removing branches from a fallen tree. Work slowly, keeping both hands on the chainsaw with a firm grip.

Always make sure your footing is secure and your weight isdistributed evenly on both feet.

Leave the larger support limbs under the tree to keep the tree off theground while cutting.

Limbs should be cut one at a time. Remove the cut limbs from thework area often to keep the work area clean and safe.

Branches under tension should be cut from the bottom up to avoid binding the chainsaw. Keep the tree between you and the chainsaw while limbing. Cut from the side opposite of the tree from the branch you

are cutting. *WARNING* Never climb into a tree to limb or prune. Do not stand on ladders, platforms, a log, or in any position which

can cause you to lose your balance or control of the saw.

PRUNING: Pruning is trimming limbs from a live tree. Work slowly, keeping both hands on the chainsaw with a firm grip. Always make sure your footing is secure and your

weight is distributed evenly on both feet. When pruning trees it is important not to make the finishing cut next to the main limb or trunk until you have cut off the

limb further out to reduce the weight. This prevents stripping the bark off the main member. Under-buck the branch 1/3 through for the first cut. Your second cut should over-buck to drop the branch off. Now

make your finishing cut smoothly and neatly against the main member so the bark will grow back to seal the wound.

SPRING POLES: A spring pole is any log, branch, rooted stump, or sapling which is bent under tension by other wood so that it springs

back if the wood holding it is cut or removed. On a fallen tree, a rooted stump has a high potential of springing back tothe upright position during the bucking cut to separate the log from the stump. Watch out for spring poles, they aredangerous. They could result in severe or fatal injuries.

CHAIN TENSION AND MAINTENANCE

CHAIN TENSION: Stop the motor before setting the chain tension. Make sure the guide bar screw (20) is loosened to finger tight, turn the

chain tension screw (25) clockwise to tension the chain (11). A cold chain will be correctly tensioned when there is noslack on the underside of the guide bar (12) and the chain (11) is snug but it can be turned by hand without binding.

Chain (11) must be re-tensioned whenever the flats on the drive links hang out on the bar groove. During normal saw operation, the temperature of the chain will increase. The drive links of a correctly tensioned warm

chain will hang approximately 0.05 (1.25mm) out of the bar groove. Be aware that chain tensioned while warm may betoo tight upon cooling. Check the cold tension before next use.

*NOTE* A new chain tends to stretch, check chain tension frequently and tension as required.

CHAIN MAINTENANCE: *CAUTION* Remove the battery (1) and make sure the chain (11) has stopped before you do any work on the saw. For smooth and fast cutting, chain (11) needs to be maintained properly. The chain (11) requires sharpening when the

wood chips are small and powdery, the chain (11) must be forced through the wood during cutting, or the chain (11) cutsto one side. While performing maintenance of your chain (11) remember:

Improper filing angle of the side plate (26) can increase the risk of severe kickback.

Too low increases the potential for kickback. Not low enough decreases cutting ability. If cutter teeth have hit hard objects, such as nails and stones, or

have been abraded by mud or sand on the wood, have authorizedservice dealer sharpen chain

. *NOTE* Inspect the drive sprocket (22) for wear or damage when replacing the chain (11). If signs of wear or damage

are present in the areas indicated, have the drive sprocket (22) repaired or replaced by an authorized service dealer

HOW TO SHARPEN THE CUTTERS: Be careful to file all cutters to the specified angles and to the same length, as fast cutting can be obtained only when all

cutters are uniform. Wear gloves for protection. Properly tension the chain (11) prior to sharpening. Refer to chain tension section earlier

in this manual. Do all of your filing at the mid-point of the bar (12). Use a 5/32 diameter round file and holder (not included).

*WARNING* Improper chain sharpening increases the potential of kickback. *WARNING* Failure to replace or repair damaged chain can cause serious injury. *WARNING* The saw chain (11) is very sharp. Always wear protective gloves when performing maintenance on the

chain (11).

TOP PLATE FILING ANGLE: Correct 30 Degrees File holders are marked with guide marks to align file properly to produce top plate (28) angle. Less than 30 Degrees - for cross cutting. More than 30 Degrees Feathered edge dulls quickly.

SIDE PLATE ANGLE: Correct 80 Degrees produced automatically if correct diameter file is used in file holder. Hook Grabs and dulls quickly. Increases the potential of kickback. Results from using a file with a diameter too

small, or file held too low. Backwards slope Needs too much feed pressure, causes excessive wear to bar (12) and chain (11). Results from

using a file with a diameter too large, or file held too high.

GENERAL MAINTENANCE Keep the ventilation slots of the tool clean at all times. When the housing of the chainsaw needs to be cleaned, do not use solvents

but a soft, damp cloth. Never allow any liquid get inside the tool. Do notimmerse any part of the tool in a liquid.

CHANGING BLADES The hedge/grass shear is equipped with two blades. Hedge shear blade (29) is used to cut hedges and grass shear

blade (30) is used to cut grass. Turn Chameleon hedge/grass shear motor housing upside down. Stabilize motor housing. Gently lift the tab on the

blade replacement cover (31) and slide the cover away from the front of the blade. Remove current blade. Insert the desired blade into the base of the motor housing. Align the 4 tabs for secure mounting. Pair the drive shaft to the receptacle on the blade. Once the blade is in position, align the blade cover with the slots in the base of the motor housing. Push blade replacement cover (31) forward until it clicks and locks in place. The hedge/grass shear (29/30) is now

ready for use.

OPERATION To run tool, push the safety switch (3) while simultaneously engaging the power trigger (4). Once the power trigger (4) is engaged, you can release the safety lock switch (3). The safety switch (3) can reduce the risk of accidental starting. To stop the hedge/grass shear, release the power trigger (4). Do not force the blade through heavy shrubbery or dense growth. The blades may become inoperable. If the blades (29

or 30) get stuck, release the power trigger (4) immediately. Do not use your fingers to release the jammed blades as itmay cause serious injury.

Do not touch the blades (29 or 30) during operation and beware of sharp edges, even if the tool is not used.

CUTTING TIPS Use hedge shear in a side to side motion. Use grass shear in a forward sweeping motion. When your hedges should be trimmed by a significant amount, use Chameleon Hedge Trimmer (LG09202-11) or other

cutting devices designed for trimming thicker branches (with a diameter more than 0.5). Then work with thehedge/grass shear for finishing.

Ensure that the blade does not touch material that may damage the blades (29 or 30). Dispose of clippings in a matter consistent with local laws and guidelines.

MAINTENANCE Keep the ventilation slots of the tool clean at all times. When the housing of the hedge/grass shears need to be cleaned, do not use solvents but a soft, damp cloth. Never

allow any liquid get inside the tool. Do not immerse any part of the tool in a liquid. Cleaning the Blade: The blade must be cleaned and treated with a light oil or spray lubricant (such as WD40 or 3in1,

etc.) after each use.

To adjust length, loosen adjustment lock knob (33) clockwise. Slide pole to desired length.Re-tighten adjustment knob (33) counter-clockwise until tight to secure.

To adjust tool head angle, loosen tool angle adjustment knob (34) by turning counter-clockwise. Setangle indicator (located on side of the adjustment head) to desired angle. Tighten tool angleadjustment knob (34) by turning clockwise until secure.

To adjust rear handle angle, depress the rear handle angle adjustment button (35). Set desired angleand release button. Button will lock into place.

To adjust the auxiliary handle (36) loosen the auxiliary handle knob (37) by turning counter-clockwise.Slide auxiliary handle (36) to desired location along the shaft, set desired handle angle and re-tightenauxiliary handle knob (37) by turning clockwise.

MAINTENANCE: Keep stored in a cool and dry area. Keep free from debris and mud. Keep terminals clean and free from debris.
