Outgoing Board Chair, John Manier, highlighted the grand opening of the new Chamber office and Visitor Center as part of the downtown redevelopment effort. Tourism is a big part of Chippewa’s economy. John shared that a study conducted by Tourism Economics shows the impact of tourism on the state’s economy was $18.5 billion in 2014, an increase of 5.5% from the previous year. Of the statewide traveler spending, Chippewa County saw a 2014 tourism economic impact of $127 million, up 2.21% from $124.3 million in 2013. “The Chamber is committed to our social media efforts and targeted tourism campaigns in Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota and parts of Wisconsin to continue increasing our hotel occupancy rates in 2016. Janice Lemminger, 2016 Chamber Board Chair, shared the long list of future development in our community planned for 2016, including the Cobblestone Hotel & Suites and the Chippewa River Distillery and BREWster Brothers Brewing Co. , both opening this year in downtown Chippewa Falls. “Workforce issues continue to be the focus for many of our businesses and therefore is a focus of the Chamber,” said Lemminger. The Chamber will continue its School2Skills program as well as supporting the Youth Apprenticeship program in Chippewa Falls. honored to serve as part of the Chamber Board. Erin moved to the Chippewa Valley in 1996 to start school at UWEC. She has a bachelor's degree in Journalism with an emphasis is Advertising and a Marketing minor. She moved to Chippewa Falls in 2002 to take an Assistant Manager position with the Country Inn & Suites where she has lived and worked ever since. The hotel has won several awards within the Country Inns & Suites system. At the Annual Business Conference in Las Vegas February 8-11 the Country Inn & Suites will receive the 2015 President's Award, 2015 Renovation Excellence Award, and it is also nominated for the Responsible Business Award.
The Chamber welcomes the following to the Chamber’s Board of Directors for a three year term.
Ben Lane is a partner at Wiley Law S.C. specializing in business/corporate, estate plan-ning, real es-
tate, collections, municipal law and many other legal services. He is a member of the Chippewa Rod & Gun Club and is a Board member of the State Bar of Wis-consin Young Lawyers Divi-sion. He also serves on several committees with the State Bar of Wisconsin. Ben was recently appointed as a member of the Wisconsin Tenth Judicial Dis-trict’s Self-Represented Litigants Committee. He is President of the Chippewa County Bar Association and coordinates the Chippewa County Bar Association’s free legal clinic each month. Ben was recently appointed as a Board member of the Chippewa Valley Cultural Association-Heyde Center for the Arts. Ben is also a member of the Chippewa County Deer Advi-sory Council with the Wisconsin DNR. Ben and his wife have two children who keep them busy.

Lindsey Everson
grew up in Marshfield, WI and Marcell, MN and graduated Cum Laude from College of Saint Scholastica in
Duluth, MN with a B.A. in Economics and International Management with a minor in Spanish. She began her career with Target as a business ana-lyst. Lindsey then led buying for the Global Bazaar and Decora-tive Accessories units, followed by Business Process Consultant, Planogram Optimization and then Product Manager, Ready to Wear. In 2011, she joined Chico’s FAS in Florida, as Sourc-ing Manager, Apparel. In 2014, she returned to MN as Director, Merchandising, Merchandising Operations and Global Sourcing for the Tile Shop. Lindsey grew up in the hospitality industry, working at her parent’s golf course in Marshfield and then at their bar and restaurant in MN. Growing up, she would travel to Chippewa Falls for swimming, golf and tennis competitions. Lindsey and her husband Eric and daughter Olivia recently relocated to the Chippewa Valley.
