CHAIRMAN | NEWS & NOTESWhen I think of Liberty, I see the vibrant heartbeat of a small town that has now grown up. I see a community that is thriving and attracting new families and new businesses. I see an education system that is building our leaders and innovators of tomorrow. I see state of the art medical facilities committed to healing, strengthening, and educating this community. Finally, I see community partners, small and large business leaders, and dedicated individuals that are committed to collaboration and teamwork. The focus and energy of these individuals is to continue to keep Liberty as a sought after destination to live, work, and place where one can enjoy a superb quality of life. I see the Liberty Chamber of Commerce as a solid foundation that supports these initiatives. The mission of the Liberty Area Chamber of Commerce is to foster economic opportunities and enhance community life in the Liberty area through member involvement-and that is what we are here to do. So what’s ahead for 2015? As a chamber board, we embrace this vision and have organized a variety of goals that will reinforce the underlying foundation of making Liberty the best it can be. We have raised our overall benchmarks for 2015 with regards to membership retention, membership growth, and the overall fiscal stability of the Chamber. As a chamber board & staff we plan to have a continued emphasis on these three targets and will work to continue adding value, providing education, and promoting

the chamber and its activities as oneimportant step in growing your business and supporting the community we all hold dear to our hearts. At our annual retreat in November, the board felt it was important to establish another ongoing committee to assist with membership retention, growth, and overall promotion of chamber programs & benefits. This committee was titled the MVP Committee-which standsfor Marketing, Value, and Promotion. One primary purpose of the MVP Committee is to review existing member benefits, determine who those benefits support, and explore and implement additional methods to support our very diverse member population. Look for evidence of this work in the creation, promotion, and execution of our research through programming and additional tangible benefits this year. With the MVP committee committed to Marketing, Value, and Promotion and our Ambassador committee focused on proactive touches to the membership -we believe our goals of growth andretention will be positively impacted and achieved in 2015 and your overall membership value to increase. Though we have solid leadership and programming, please know the chamber is only as strong as our membership. I encourage you to take a moment in the next week to review why you decided to join the chamber, what your membership means to you now, and how can we improve your overall experience as a member? Please share these reflections with us.

Our board of directors is comprised of open-minded professional business men and women representing multiple industries in our community. By sharing your reflections with one of these board members or with our chamber staff, you are greatly assisting us in the work ahead for 2015. In addition, if you desire to be more involved in the chamber-please know, there are many ways to serve. Do not hesitate to contact us and become involved-many hands make for light work. Through service you will take advantage of your investment in the chamber, help to make our community stronger, grow your business, and make and build new friendships in our community.

Corporate Safety Solutions held a ribbon cutting for the opening of their new location last fall. They are located at 1520 N. Church Road, Ste. C.

Long John Silvers/A&W celebrated their Chamber membership with a ribbon cutting in March. The restaurant is located at 1175 Elizabeth Street.

Wicklunds CARSTAR Collision Repair & Glass celebrated their new aluminum facility with a ribbon cutting in March. They are located at 941 Sutton Place.

Liberty Hospital Urgent Care Shoal Creek celebrated the grand opening of their facility with a ribbon cutting. They are located at 8300 N. Church Road.

Annual BanquetShoal Creek Golf Course hosted our Annual Banquet & Silent Auction on January 22nd. The evening started with a social hour while guests bid on the fabulous silentauction items.

More than $3,600 was raised for theLiberty Community Scholarship Fundwhich provides scholarships to localhigh school seniors.

The 2014 Member of the Year wasWicklunds CARSTAR and Donna Kay Taylor was named 2014 Volunteer of the Year. Outgoing Board Chair, Jimmie Rucker, gave a brief review of

the year before passing the gavel to Jennifer Malone. Once again, our members came together to celebrate success and to look toward the future with renewed excitement.
