The Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED) proposes to coordinate Pennsylvania Small Business Week this May in honor of the National Small Business Week (April 30 - May 6). Following on last year’s successful Pennsylvania Small Business Week, the Cumberland Valley Visitor’s Bureau/CAEDC plans to expand activities for 2017.
All of the details about Pennsylvania Small Business Week will be posted on dced.pa.gov/PASmallBiz. Cumberland Valley Visi-tor’s Bureau/CAEDC plans include:
• Kick-off event on April 28 to launch the week• Coordinating the celebration of Pennsylvania Small Business Week through• Creating a microsite as a centralized location of the week’s details - being updated to reflect 2017• Events calendar with DCED-sponsored and partner events (both online and in-person events are welcome) – seeking information on partner events• Information on resources directing to DCED and our partners’ small business assistance resources• Small business success stories highlighting small businesses across the state – we welcome all suggestions! Even if we can’t feature everyone for Small Business Week, we always looking for information for new case studies and blog entrieso Developing and distributing a Pennsylvania Small Business Week Celebration Kit, designed to help communities, part-ners, legislators, and others easily join in the week’s activities• Proactive pitching and media relations outreach • Promoting entrepreneurial and small business support services offered by DCED and our partners • Highlighting and participating in small business events hosted by our communities, partners, sister-agencies, and leg-islators• Hosting a webinar series with a concentration on resources and assistance available across state government agencies
