GOALS FOCUSING ON
ORGANISATION:• Voluntary education aimed towards gifted students
in grades 8 and 9.• Challenging education with a focus on problem solving.• Financed by Blekinge Tekniska Högskola and
Ehrensvärdska Gymnasiet in Karlskrona.
• Like-minded students - regarding maths and other things. • Variation of students – there’s no typical mathgeek.• How do we reach the right students? • Teaching with no limits! – Lärande utan tak!• Teacher role• Individual/Team-work.• Students from grade 8 carry continuity.
STUDENTSCHALLENGES AND POSSIBILITIES
• Focus on mathematical skills - not the curriculum.• We don’t adapt to everyone – but always start off easy.• Thematic work over longer periods of time
or a new theme every week.• The role of the home shool teachers. • To encourage teachers to use the material in
their home classrooms – and become co-learners.
TEACHING MATERIAL CHALLENGES AND POSSIBILITIES
• How can we cooperate with scheduling?• How do we, more so than before,
get the teachers of the home schools to activelyparticipate in the project?
• How can we make principals realize the potential for pedagogical development that lies in this project –not only in maths, but in all subjects?
