“What a boring, and rainy day,” I pouted as I was

walking toward the playground with my friends

Emma and Rose. “Hey! Look! There’s a bag hanging from that dinosaur’s mouth,”

shouted Rose. “Lets go look inside,” yelled Emma.

“Look!” exclaimed Emma, “Chalk! I love to

draw with chalk!” “Wait!” replied Rose,” It’s not

ours. Maybe we should leave it.”

Page 4: Chalk

“Maybe we can draw just one little picture,” whispered Emma. I saw Emma slowly pull a piece of yellow chalk out of the bag and stare at it curiously. She

sat down and drew a beautiful round sunshine.

All of a sudden, the sun came alive! It was so bright, we had to cover our eyes.

Page 6: Chalk

“Wow, what happened?” I asked. I don’t know!” mumbled Emma and Rose together. Then we saw the sun rise up in the sky. It was not raining anymore.

“This is magic chalk! I want to draw something,” yelled Rose. Rose got a piece of chalk and started drawing orange butterflies.

Butterflies flew everywhere! “ Wow! Monarch butterflies,” cried Emma. “I can’t believe it!” Shouted Rose.

I decided I would draw a dinosaur. I knew it would come to life but I didn’t even care. So I quickly took out a green piece of chalk and drew a humungous

dinosaur.

Page 9: Chalk

As the dinosaur came up we were terrified. “ I shouldn’t have done that,” I

thought to myself.

Page 10: Chalk

“Ahhhh!” we all screamed. We ran as fast as we could from the dinosaur.

Page 11: Chalk

We climbed as fast as we could up the ladder and into the hole of the slide.

Page 12: Chalk

As soon as I got down the slide the Dinosaur was right there in my face! “The dinosaur found me!” I yelled.

Page 13: Chalk

“Stop! Turn around and go back up! It’s not safe!” I exclaimed.

Page 14: Chalk

Then I had a great idea. “Chalk melts.” I thought. I drew a cloud and raindrops on the inside of the slide with the chalk.

Page 15: Chalk

Then there were raindrops dropping from the rain clouds. Splish splash went the raindrops.

Page 16: Chalk

“The dinosaur is melting” yelled Rose! It looked like ice cream when it melts off of a cone. We felt happy because we didn’t have to be scared anymore.

Page 17: Chalk

We went to look at the water left from the frightening dinosaur. Then we put the chalk back in the bag where we found it.

“Lets go home and leave that chalk a lone,” I said to Emma and Rose. We decided not to tell our parents and walked home quickly.
